  1. What a pity for Bengal fans that the high point of their season was the ass-kicking of the Bears. beating the steelers twice was the high point, easily But the Steelers weren't overjoyed with Bengals' victory such as the Bears.
  2. What a pity for Bengal fans that the high point of their season was the ass-kicking of the Bears.
  3. Your preference will come true, I just hope it the former of the two. Count me in on Sheets as well, if only to keep him from the Cards. Sheets, often injuried, out for a season - that's got Card's pixie dust all over it.
  4. Yes, I was way off, saw one site had them 24th - didn't research - I believe they were near the top as recent as last season.
  5. I doubt that. They could easily fall from the top spot, where they are now, but middle of the pack? Their core is still very young with huge upside. And while Hossa might be a problem in 5 years, he easily earns his cap hit. They have two problem contracts, Campbell and Huet. Huet's is more or less meaningless as he doesn't have much time left on it and they can replace him internally. And Campbell isn't exactly useless, and there are options for getting rid of him. It's one thing to be up against cap trouble when you're a team like the Redskins who isn't good in the first place. Or in hockey, you have the Rangers who spent a crapload on non-elite free agents and didn't develop much of anything internally. But when you are great, and young, you can live tight to the cap and stay in contention for a while. Not to mention, what, a top five, if not the top, farm (don't know the hockey term) system in the NHL.
  6. I really do wish the Red Wings were healthy because, I believe these Hawks are definitively better and would handle them in 6 if not, 5 games in a playoff series.
  7. Almost all of them defensive coaches. Says something about the ability to work with Lovie Smith in the scheme he likes. I believe there is a crapload of evidence that he's just a stubborn dunce who cannot think creatively and will not tolerate any meandering from the hard and fast rule of his way or highway, the hell with results. The best coaches adapt strategy to the talent they have to work with, Lovie never has, and never will do that. This is what I was thinking of as well, there's something to work with on the offensive side, the right coach, putting to use what he has could make it work. But numb-nuts would rather try to fit a square peg into a circular hole.
  8. If they put up another dud of a season offensively then the Cutler-hate should ratchet up quite nicely and we can go ahead and burn that bridge. Good time. Which would be a shame because, he's got the talent to be one of the best Bear QB's ever - even without the likes of greatest WR of all time (according to many on the Score and others) Brandon Marshall, he still managed to throw more TD passes than Orton.
  9. I believe you're correct, should a miracle somehow occur, Lovie will right there to tell everyone I told you so.
  10. Lovie you're one big [expletive] idiot when it comes to coaching football - plain and simple.
  11. Lovie really is stubborn to the point of stupidity, it hasn't worked, it doesn't work, it'll never work with this roster.
  12. Did you mean HB? http://profootballfocus.com/by_position.php?tab=by_position&season=2009&pos=HB&stype=r&runpass=&teamid=-1&numsnaps=25&numgames=1
  13. I know Martz has the potential to turn out badly, but I'm really curious to see what he would do with a quarterback like Cutler. It could be a great hire. I believe there's a chance it may work out as well, it's not as if the cupboard is completely bare, Cutler, Aromashodu, Olsen, Hester and Bennett in the hands of the right OC could be effective.
  14. Listening to Ed and Doug last night on the Score, they mentioned that Lovie is very stubborn and is quite probably going to continue with the same defensive scheme. It's obvious the scheme doesn't work very well, could mean he doesn't have the players for it, players aren't going to change much. Yet, he'll continue to employ the same ineffective defense rather, than try to come up with something to better utilize what his players bring to the table. What do you call it when someone continues to use the something that doesn't work over and over - stupid.
  15. I know it was a meaningless game for the Bengals (vs. the Jets) but, I'm beginning to wonder if the massacre of the Bears was the high point of their season.
  16. Rashied Davis needed a job. Lovie Smith the Dusty Baker of the NFL.
  17. The success of Aromoshadu and moving Williams to LT alone are reason enough to fire Lovie, I still didn't catch his excuse for not playing Aromoshadu earlier. What was it?
  18. What a fool. He always seem to have some excuse. And his adjustments seemed to work so well this year. What are the odds this fool ever gets a job again. Lovie' next gig.
  19. It was actually Dave Williams. Thanksgiving 1980 against the Lions. I remember listening to the game on the radio while driving somewhere. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/198011270det.htm I also distinctly remember Jimmy the Greek, during CBS' halftime show, saying the Bears would win in OT.
  20. Very frustrating losing to POS team, according to metrics posted earlier Dallas is a pretty crappy team and the Hawks have managed to lose to them TWICE.
  21. imo, this is seriously the biggest deal about this game for us as a team going into the future. he did extremely well against one of the best DEs in the league. Not once did anyone of those ass-munch ESPN announcers give Williams any credit, it was all about Allen not having a good game.
  22. Compared to crap we've seen out of Cutler since what, week 5, Cutler was great tonight.
  23. Neither of those teams will be in the NFC Championship. Sounds good to me, as long as Farve somehow ends up with egg on his face and the Vikings don't win the Super Bowl. Not winning the Super Bowl means he'll end with egg on his face? He played a great game tonight and took control of things in the second half. It's not his fault the o-line has stretches where they don't know how to block and the defense suddenly is horrible. Or that the defensive coordinator (who supposedly would be a top target of the Bears if Lovie is fired) insists on blitzes that never get there and leaving an 80% CB one-on-one in overtime. Or has a running back who fumbled the game away. I wouldn't be surprised to see him throw one of his trying to force the ball in there picks which costs the Vikings a playoff win.

  25. Should the Vikings make to the NFC Championship game to face, quite probably, New Orleans, they'll get their asses kicked.
