Was just about to say this. I can only think of 2 downfield pass attempts today. Granted the pass rush has been crushing our line but there’s little dinks and dunks aren’t fooling anyone Doesn't this limit what you can do downfield? I'd rather Justin dumps it off, this game is completely meaningless.

Any kind of pass rush is going to make this Bears' secondary even more effective, why I think they should not pass on Anderson - if he's there at #2 not so certain Houston won't take him at #1.

2 good kickoffs returns today. I don’t doubt he can contribute as a kick returner but not sure it’s worth a roster spot if he can’t get on the field as a receiver when 3-4 other WRs are hurt. Think you're correct, he'll get some more chances, it's now or never, if continues to cough up the ball, there's a good chance his NFL career is over.

Wait a second, came in late, did Velus Jones Jr. actually do something positive on a KO return? I believe he's got these remaining games and maybe, the preseason, to prove he's worth a roster spot.

Poles has no limitations next offseason, a bounty of resources to get it correct, if there isn't marked improvement on both sides of ball next season. He, without question, should be removed because, if he cannot get it right with that number of resources, he'll never get it right. That's the endless Bears cycle. I can see that, it shouldn't be all that hard to fix things, hell, doesn't take a genius to figure out drafting Will Anderson and signing an impact DL will quite probably fix the defense. Poles should be capable of seeing such moves.

That's exactly what Fields will tell himself as he falls asleep every night of his inevitably shortened, doomed to be stuck behind a Bears OL NFL career. Hey, look on the bright side: Poles has no regrets Given the resources Poles will have in the 2023 offseason there's a real good chance Fields will soon be playing behind a line with NFL talent. While not idiot proof, Poles would have to make a deliberate attempt to horsefeathers up. I'm certain he'll miss on some moves but, I don't believe he'll miss on the majority of moves, as I said, you have to really try to horsefeathers up every move.

If Poles can improve the pass blocking and find an NFL caliber WR, I'm certain Fields will be better than Hurts. Just horsefeathering sucks we've got to endure 3 more games of watching Fields try to succeed with this current collection of scrubs, if the tables were turned and Hurts was the Bears QB he'd be nowhere near any of what Fields has done. Can't the Bears just forfeit the remaining schedule? Many of the currently active Bears are going to be ex-Bears on 1/9 there's really no point in continuing.

Another point Eberflus must address is the lack of calls for Fields, the repeated blows to the head and, in Suh's case, an outright punch to head, are getting out of hand. If I were him, I'd would have gone apeshit crazy on the officials trying to keep my QB safe, including bitching about in the media, fines be damned. I'm guessing they'll be pursuing all the official avenues in trying to get Justin some calls, send the film to the office, getting yet another apology for a missed call, yadda, yadda, yadda. I say screw all that crap it's not working, time to start being very loud and vocal.

I don't know about the Eagles, they're very good however, they're not a near invincible super team their 13-1 record suggests. Had the Bears an OL that could pass block for more than a nanosecond and WR's who could actually catch/hold on to the ball they would have won. The Eagles can definitely be had in the playoffs, wouldn't be shocking if they do not win the NFC Championship. Can't help but think the Eagles have had a gigantic helping of football pixie dust the season - only 13 or 14 games missed to injury, defense going from near the bottom last season to the top this season - that does not happen unless you hit on nearly every offseason move combined with some career years from multiple players. Gives me some hope for the Bears, with some good moves in the offseason they can drastically improve. I don't mean 13-1 after 14 games but, maybe, 8-6, 7-7, 6-8 with marked improvement on both sides of the ball.

My predictions: Dodgers sign Swanson, Cubs sign Segura to a two-year deal, thereby, keeping in line with the cheap whoops, I meant fiscally responsible mode.

Never going to happen, Hoyer didn't overpay for Correa, why in the hell would he overpay for a lesser player in Swanson? Have to make certain to save all those funds to do nothing but, hey, look on the bright side won't have to worry about dead money, trying to move a big contract in 2032. Because he can overpay for the lesser player and spend over 100 million less? When one continues to spout about fiscal responsibility, I would think that removes overpaying in any context from the table, no?

I’m old enough to remember when Correa was the Only Hope left Not that I’m getting all my hopes up but the meat of the offseason I wanted is still available: Swanson, Rodon, Varsho, Luzardo, prbly Ohtani, and even Matt Moore Given what we've thus far seen of Hoyer do you really think it possible that he'll execute the overpay required to sign any of available big-name FAs? Overpaying seems very much to be Hoyer' kryptonite, a hard line he will not cross. The Cubs market is more like Chad Green, Jed Lowrie and whatever mediocre to bad players are in the bargain bin.

Signing a bunch of flotsam and jetsam in the hopes they'll be flip-able is worse than doing nothing. Might as well just sit back, prop up Taillon and Bellinger, see what happens on the farm, I guess.
