Lot of illini fans saying Michigan should have gotten flagged for a pick on that 4th down and looking at the replays they may be right. I’ll take the W. Looked ugly, illini are the second team in the last 2 seasons to physically dominate both Michigan lines, the other being Georgia. Illinois is legit, don’t care what their record says. Did not expect that close of game, thought Michigan was going to win quite handily nevertheless, Illini will roll over Northwestern next week to finish a very good 8-4. Would have been great to see the Illini in the Big Ten Championship vs. Michigan or OSU, they'd be far more competitive than Purdue. Michigan or OSU is going to score 50+ on Purdue in what's going to be a joke of a football game.

This is the kind of an Illini team that's finally going to get Underwood past the second week of the tournament.

In addition to perhaps, the worst punter in the Big Ten, if that clown could have managed a halfway decent punt not giving Michigan the ball at midfield they may have won.

If the goal is to make sure the team loses but it not be Fields’ fault, I can’t think of much better options than playing a guy who is guaranteed to fumble a punt. Only issue is Atlanta may not need to punt. I was thinking more along the lines of kickoff returning but, I get your point.

Might this be a game to give Velus Jones Jr. another shot at kick returning? It's an indoor game so, no atmospheric conditions to worry about, plus Herbert' on the IR, just a thought.

Did not understand the logic of running the same team back out for 22-23, did not work the first time. This season, no Ball, a hobbled LaVine, what did the Bulls' front office expect was going to happen?

Right now, QB runs have to be a larger part of the offense because Justin is behind a line that's incapable of consistent pass blocking. I think most of us get that, next season, behind what I would expect to be a much-improved line we'll see less of an emphasis on QB runs.

I saw it, first thought was it's not only the Bears who are victimized by what the NFL calls officiating, second thought, an official saw the fumble but, could not see an oblivious grab and pull of the facemask, really?

I'm guessing that the Lions coaching was on that referee about Johnson using his hands to the face all game. That was right by the Lions sideline. He had just called a hands to the face on Johnson the play before that as well. So pretty safe assumption that the coaches saw Johnson using his hands high and said something to that ref. And the ref saw hands high, WR hit the ground, assumed he got him in the face, and threw the flag. Even if that's true, in general, if one is hit in the face their head, their helmet would certainly snap back or, if Johnson got him in the throat. I'd think Benson' hands would have been reaching for his throat - don't see that either. Just terrible, if I'm the Bears staff, I pounce on the officials before, during and after the Atlanta game, constantly be in their ears to call what they SEE not what the other team' sideline is telling them to call.

One can say well, the Bears were up by 14 in the fourth, they should have put it away however, officiating almost literally handed the Lions a TD they should have never scored. Bears' defense is bad enough, don't need the officiating handing the opponents gifts when they actually make a good play.

Maybe he got him in throat area? Appears his right cleat got caught in the turf when and it was worsened by Johnson pushing him, don't know if the flag was warranted. Does appear the offensive lineman got as close to the face as Johnson did, why not a flag there as well?

What is up with the overall ineptitude of the NFL' officiating? Dallas-GB, GB kickoffs, ball clearly bounces into the end zone for a touchback, official is right there, and the dumbass just stands there no signal, nothing. Leading to some confusion, then, they blow the whistles and say it bounced into the endzone.

That last call on the Vikings the defender barely touched Davis draws a flag, Kmet gets knocked down - crickets.

With a doubt, had it been the Lions on offense that call is made. thats such a weird thing to think about...the Lions being the darlings of the NFL refs? Not so much the Lions, could be any team on offense that gets that call 10 out of 10 against the Bears. There's no conspiracy, etc. just bad luck, and a slew of questionable calls be made against the Bears.

Hard to run a two minute passing drill when your receivers get knocked down on their routes with no call. Not to mention running for your life immediately after the snap. With a doubt, had it been the Lions on offense that call is made.

When seeing holds all over against the Bears officials somehow miss several blatant holds on the Lions, that's about right.

Let's see what phantom/manufactured call the officiating can come up with to help the Lions on this drive. I'm calling a Goff pick here.

Me to, would have been nice, Purdue' going to lose by 30+ to OSU or Michigan, Illini by 20+, still many did expect much of this Illini team. Maybe, this is just the start for Illini football.

Lombardi must have the same view of Jackson and Hurts, no? Or it just blind everything the Bears do is dumb and will never work kind of stuff? Like are we still doing this? Josh Allen is on pace for a career high in rushing yards (pushing 800). Daniel Jones has more rushing yards per game than about 10 starting RBs. QBs have to be able to scramble these days. Brady, Rodgers are struggling without the ability to run around. Matt Ryan was literally killed because of his immobility. Jackson, Hurts, Murray were all "just RBs" until they put up MVP level seasons early in their careers. This opinion is stupid, outdated, and very likely racist. I thought of the race issue as well, the old black QB's cannot pass BS.

Lions' DL is going to give the Bears problems, guess, when comes to pass blocking, we could say that of any DL they'll face. Nevertheless, think we'll see plenty of moving the pocket, quick outs, jet sweeps, with an occasional deep shot. Just don't think Fields is going to able to drop back much, which'll probably be ok.

Saw analysis of Fields' TD run, appears he was going to pass to Mooney in the middle but, observed Mooney had his head turned so, he faked and took off. WTF, a Bears QB, learning from his mistakes, playing smart? Is that legal? Thought it being the Bears and all such a thing is not allowed.
