  1. I'm glad Lendenborg is done, mainly because he's really horsefeathers good and May is never going to find someone like him again. Secondly, his sometimes chippy-ness and acting like he didn't touch anyone was getting tiresome.
  2. Apparently Blackwell has a high price tag, not worth it IMO. Always thought he's more a product of Gard's system than actually good.
  3. Absolutely, love the hook and hold call on Karaban, it's the correct call. That motherfucker hacked the horsefeathers out of Wagler Saturday night.
  4. Grant Hill: "...they're trying to grind it out, make a Big East game..." yeah, the never happens in the Big Ten, horsefeathers brain dead. Also, Reed is not quick or athletic enough to get around Mara. Reed' whole game is predicated on pushing his defender out of the way and he can't do that to Mara. UConn is hacking, holding, pushing POS team.
  5. Right now sounding like most of the Illini with eligibility are coming back, there's a sense of unfinished business. Besides Mirk, Andrej is the big one, come up with money and he probably stays.
  6. Brown is unable to consistently execute his pitches, take the Arias at bat, snaps off a good breaking pitch for a swinging strike. Then a few pitches later hangs a breaking ball over the middle. As a batter you just wait him out because he'll inevitably make a mistake.
  7. I'd like to think so but, right now he's a gopher ball machine. Don't have much faith he'll be effective.
  8. Shouldn't an OF first steps be back and then adjust in? Conforto played a FB into a double, just terrible, I'm ready for Alcantara, there's no need to keep Conforto on the roster.
  9. Has Shaw barreled up a ball this season? Seems like everything he hits are topper GB's, is it swing mechanics?
  10. Good point plus I strongly suspect UConn will be called on their hack and hold more so than vs. Illinois. They did a hack job on Wagler and got away with it.
  11. Yaxel looked pretty lame out there, him being ineffective might be their only chance.
  12. Michigan off to great start, would be worried about the Arizona center. He's not bothered by Mara' length and it appears he can take him. Watch Arizona keep feeding him. No Yaxel may not matter in tonights game. Need Yaxel to kick the horsefeathers out of UConn on Monday.
  13. It's going to happen, Brad' already capitalized on the recruiting trail, they'll be more FF's.
  14. That was it, hell, even an average night from three and they win. After some early struggles, they end up kicking their asses on boards and did most else well enough. Just couldn't shoot or make layups. It's hard to be upset, disappointed yes, the better team didn't win. Nevertheless, they'll be more FF's and there will be a break through.
  15. Oftentimes you have to fail before you succeed. Prediction: Sometime soon Illinois will win a NC and they'll beat UConn in the title game.
  16. That's true, tonight I give more credit to venue than anything UConn did, missed a plethora of open looks. We'll see how Michigan and Arizona shoot, wouldn't be surprised if they struggle.
  17. I'm thinking the shooting sight lines are better on one side of the court than the other. Illini missing is one thing, but, they're missing badly. Glad they're going the other way in 2nd half.
  18. Same with Michigan.
  19. Regardless of what happens tonight I believe Brad will build on this, make more FF's and who knows, maybe finally break through with a NC. The seal has been broke, that was the biggest obstacle. As for tonight, I believe the Illini are indeed playing with house money, hardly no one is giving them a chance vs. UConn. If there's any pressure it's on UConn, they're expected to move on. Also, believe the Wolverines can play free and lose, for reasons that escape me, most are pro Arizona. A side note, saw a video with Derrick Rose discussing his recruitment, he said Calipari took the time to make an in home visit. Whereas, Weber did not, now, I suspect there was quite a bit more to Rose' recruitment but, not taking the time to make an in house visit seems like a big mistake. Always liked Weber as an X's and O's coach however, he sucked at everything else.
  20. All Big Ten men's final and UCLA beats USC for a Big Ten sweep of basketball and football championships. That'll send the SEC and others conferences howling for changes.
  21. Someone pointed this out earlier - previous two games with UConn were at very UConn friendly venues with a big time pro-UConn crowd. Tonight it's a 180, almost a home game for both the Illini and Michigan.
  22. Not much there nevertheless, hope you have a great time rooting for the Illini.
  23. Love it, some have mentioned how well UConn and Arizona fans travel, I knew they had no chance. It was going to be all Big Ten crowd. Imagine if Purdue or MSU had made it, for Purdue I'm thinking purchases by state would have been 60% Indiana, 39.5% Illinois/Michigan
  24. Apparently, for the Illini's practice, on one side, the stands are nearly full of Orange. Mind you, this is just a practice. One thing is for certain both Big Ten teams are going to have overwhelming crowd support.
