i deal with the dumb hot take stuff (although WSCR is much better about that these days) for hearing the interviews, live talk, etc. sometimes i just want to listen to people talking instead of music (yeah podcast blah blah blah - they're not live but i do listen to a few). i don't listen to 1000 just about ever anymore though. Exact same way although this week the new Beatles XM channel has been on most of this week during my drives instead of sports talk The XM Beatles channel is something of a fraud. I'm not really interested in obscure songs that influenced the Beatles. How about playing songs by the Beatles? Even the ones by Ringo. As for Schwarber leading off, Eduardo Perez made a point worth considering during the telecast the other day. Perhaps leading off made Schwarber change his approach and that caused him to overthink hitting. I realize that this sounds kind of meatbally and hard to quantify but players are human beings and leading off or batting clean up has been known to affect player's approaches before. Ryne Sandberg, for example, was mostly a lot better batting 2nd than 3rd. Schwarber has likely batted 3rd or 4th on every team he's ever been on so there would be a higher comfort level as a middle of the order guy.
