  1. Does Sheetz have a signature item? We have Royal Farms and their thing is fried chicken which isn't bad though it depends on where you are as some are better than others.
  2. You said the same thing when Jimmy cracked corn, didn't you?
  3. So it looks as though the Hawks will lose TVR and Kruger to the expansion draft- one drafted and the other traded. I'm still hoping that Vegas takes Kruger and trades him minus half his salary back to the Hawks for TVR and maybe a draft pick or 2. That would help the Hawks cap situation and allow the Golden Showers to add some depth for their AHL and other affiliates.
  4. It's too short. It needs to be windy and the greens need to dry out to be really challenging. It's not short, it's just the greens like you mentioned. I don't think there's any forecast of a lot of wind to really get the greens dry and there's chance for some small showers/storms every day and night so they should stay pretty soft and easy. Basically if you are hitting fairways today and playing relatively decent you can put it within 15-20ft on every hole for birdie puts. Typically, the USGA makes the shortest par 5 a par 4 which helps keep the scores up- which is what they want. Any links style course is going to look and play a lot easier with no wind.
  5. I would have guessed that Vitters was more like 37 than 27. That seems like such a really long time ago.
  6. I assume you mean besides Lackey. Lackey is a bad person? The guy eats one lousy child and all of a sudden he's a bad person.
  7. What's up with Rizzo? His name kind of implies that he's a shady character. Like Rizzo in the movie Grease.
  8. Him cheating on his wife is none of my business. Him hitting his wife is indefensible.
  9. I saw where Soler had been sent down yesterday. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2017/6/3/15735248/royals-option-jorge-soler
  10. Unless you think there's some major mechanical flaw that needs fixing or it would benefit him mentally to face horsefeathers pitching to feast on I don't know what spending that much time in Iowa will do. He should stay up and work through it, IMO, unless one of those things I mentioned they feel he needs. Maybe his playing time should be reduced a bit and he should be doing more work on the side but it should essentially be a sink or swim thing with him. Either he'll work through this/have some luck even out and will be fine or he just sucks and we move on. If he just can't hit low-mid 90s fastballs in the zone sending him to Iowa isn't going to help anything. I guess the idea of letting him get like 30-40 PAs over the course of a week and a half isn't completely without merit. Getting regular reps in games that don't matter wouldn't really hurt anything in the long run. edit: to clarify, I'm not saying Schwarber should be sent down, just that it's not really going to make much of a difference.
  11. i think the blackhawks run would still be remembered as being more impressive. that first crosby team that won the cup was too long ago, and they had too many ugly/disappointing playoff exits between then and last year. also the east was pretty weak in lots of those years. the blackhawks consistently did it against great competition. Back to back is more impressive than 3 in 5. If the Hawks win another one and Crosby doesn't than the debate is over.
  12. Problem: pitchers can't get anybody out solution: send Schwarber to the minors Seems logical.
  13. The Rays were hard to deal with even before Maddon. They likely always will be since they can't afford to pay very many star players so they pretty much have to get max value out of any trade they make.
  14. Soler is a guy that I'll always associate with the beginning of the Theo era. I can see where people have a soft spot for him. Even if he panned out he was likely going to be a guy that couldn't stay healthy and therefore caused lots of frustration.
  15. Butler seems ok so far.
  16. Am I correct in assuming that you're new SXM? Because that's been their MO with all of their "single artist/band" channels since forever; a ton of songs by the titular artist/band/band members/spinoffs, plus a bunch of covers of that band's music, or other acts that directly inspired or were inspired by them. I've never listened to any of the one artist channels before. I only listen to the Beatles channel when my daughter is in the car because she doesn't like alt nation and I refuse to listen to country music. The Beatles station is a compromise.
  17. i deal with the dumb hot take stuff (although WSCR is much better about that these days) for hearing the interviews, live talk, etc. sometimes i just want to listen to people talking instead of music (yeah podcast blah blah blah - they're not live but i do listen to a few). i don't listen to 1000 just about ever anymore though. Exact same way although this week the new Beatles XM channel has been on most of this week during my drives instead of sports talk The XM Beatles channel is something of a fraud. I'm not really interested in obscure songs that influenced the Beatles. How about playing songs by the Beatles? Even the ones by Ringo. As for Schwarber leading off, Eduardo Perez made a point worth considering during the telecast the other day. Perhaps leading off made Schwarber change his approach and that caused him to overthink hitting. I realize that this sounds kind of meatbally and hard to quantify but players are human beings and leading off or batting clean up has been known to affect player's approaches before. Ryne Sandberg, for example, was mostly a lot better batting 2nd than 3rd. Schwarber has likely batted 3rd or 4th on every team he's ever been on so there would be a higher comfort level as a middle of the order guy.
  18. I read this three times before I comprehended what was going on, but I concur, Kesler is a jagweed. Kessel doesn't seem like a bad dude at all, but I love the guy, as I'm viewing things through Pens shaded glasses. Kessel trolling team USA as they were getting bounced from the World Cup was great. They left him off the roster for the likes of Justin horsefeathering abdelkater because Torts is a neanderthal who wanted grit or whatever euphemism for borderline goon he used.
  19. The rule with getting hit in the nuts is that it's hilarious unless it's you that got hit. Tebow is awesome. He should do this every game.
  20. What do you have against Kessel? I think the Pens many injuries might catch up with them against the preds. He's from Madison WI. That's all I need. (Totally irrational, but growing up in Illinois and going to school at MN, I have my geographical prejudices) 1. Compelling argument re Madison 2. Do you also hate yourself for going to Mn instead of Champaign?
  21. What do you have against Kessel? I think the Pens many injuries might catch up with them against the preds. The Preds have injury problems of their own. Sadly if Pittsburgh makes the SCF they should win in 5-6 games. You could have said the same thing about the Hawks beating the Preds. Should be a fun series with 2 teams that both want to push the pace.
  22. We were playing this ringer team that was playing down 2 leagues so they could qualify for some tournament of champions thing they had in Champaign Urbana. One of their players takes out our 2nd baseman sliding high into 2nd on a ground out. About 3 weeks later, our 2nd baseman's first game back against that same team. The guy that took him out grounds to 2nd and our guy throws a ball that hits him in the side of the head after bouncing off his shoulder. I'm playing first and this guy starts to get up like he's going to charge 2nd base. I look at him like "you're not going anywhere" and his teammates are all laughing at him. Our guy said he didn't do it on purpose. He said he thought the runner was me. I was wearing a tie dye shirt and was about 5 inches taller than the guy he hit. Good times.
  23. What do you have against Kessel? I think the Pens many injuries might catch up with them against the preds.
  24. Maybe other teams don't, I wouldn't know since I don't pay much attention to other teams, but the Saints used theirs for 5 TD's last year. FB in its true form is pretty much a non-existent position. There's usually like 2 guys every year considered draftable. Tebow would have been a TE if he played. I feel like Tebow could have played an H Back type role and that team could scheme to take advantage of what he did well.
