I wore my Cubs hat to work today. While I was walking from my office next to the board of trade to union station, I had someone throw two plastic bottles at me, and one guy literally jump in my face and start yelling. Add that to my bar incident from two nights ago, and it paints an interesting picture. Like I said, if you don't live IN THE CITY during this, you don't understand. Living here a few years ago doesn't count, nor does simply living in the midwest. The White Sox weren't in the World Series a few years ago, and the majority of their fan base is located within the city and the surrounding south suburbs. Let me get one thing straight. I don't hate the White Sox. Normally, I could care less if they won or lost. But when it's to the point where things are being thrown at me when I'm walking down the street, I'm going to root against them. It'd be different if it were just a few bad apples, but until you're in the city, you have no idea how many Cub haters are out wondering the streets looking for someone to mess with.
