I'm baffled by Mizzou moving to the SEC. Why would anyone commit to a school that might get to finish 3rd in its division once? Were they that worried about the big 12 going under? Of course they were worried about the Big 12 imploding. It had already lost 3 members, and UT and OU were courting the PAC Whatever. I still think they pulled the trigger too soon, though. A flagship school with solid academics in a populated state was going to find a home no matter what. I think being in (and losing in) the SEC has really impacted their recruiting. Mizzou built their program on Texas kids. Right now, they have one. Without those regular games in Texas, it might be harder to sell kids on going to Missouri. Of course, they now have better access to the southeastern states, but I don't think those kids (generally) want to leave the south, especially the top kids. That leaves Missouri fighting with back of the pack SEC schools and ACC schools for the leftovers.
