  1. I agree with that. I guess my thinking is, if Stoops wants to leave (change of scenery idea), then Tennessee wouldn't be a dropoff from a historical/tradition/prestige standpoint. Clearly the talent isn't comparable between the two, but that's a temporary thing. Those who argue that there's something to the Stoops to Tennessee rumors explain it with the change of scenery argument. There's a belief around many in college football that about 10-12 years is the lifespan of a coach at one university these days. Spurrier vocalised that a couple years ago and he and Stoops are good friends. If Stoops shares this view and feels underappreciated at OU, he could see UT as a comparable job that allows for a fresh start without dropping off in caliber. As I've said, I doubt strongly that's enough for Stoops to leave OU, but it at least puts a shred of crediblity in the rumors. And who knows, if UT can pony up in the area of $6-7 mil per year and OU doesn't want to match that, maybe Stoops makes the jump. Again, I very seriously doubt it, but I also don't 100% dismiss it either (I just 99% dismiss it). UT is a pretty big step down from OU, ad I find it hard to believe this is anything more than the annual fake Stoops rumor.
  2. one final ass-kicking, then I can start paying attention to college basketball again.
  3. I see how this will make the conference more money, but I don't see how it will make it better. Neither school raises the profile in football. Scheduling becomes more complicated.
  4. Man one step forward, two steps back. I really thought we ad a chance to pull a upset. We got worked.
  5. They were down twelve in the second half and came back to win the game. Are the announcers supposed to sound bored? Chattanooga. Man. Chattanooga. The crowd goes wild! Your argument doesn't make any sense. The team was losing. They came back to win, avoiding a huge upset. Thus, the crowd and announcers were excited. Seems like pretty standard stuff to me. I'm not arguing anything. I'm a third party observer laughing at your announcers. Booyah! Our 5 stars are in a desperate comeback to crush your no stars! I imagine your announcers sounded equally silly when Purdue came back to beat Bucknell.

  8. I don't think hiring Nerlens Noel's dad midseason is going to make much of a difference. It's worth a try.
  9. It's gonna take some Self magic to make this team great.
  10. they were a lot better before knott went out for the season, but still decent. it's their pass defense that has been horrid the last two weeks. i had been marking this down as a win (and the win they need to get to 6) all season, but they looked awful the last two weeks and kansas apparently gave TT a game. We're playing a lot better. Should have beaten Texas. Had a great shot at tech and ok state. But we can't throw the ball, and we can't stop the pass. I think it could be a good game. We'll need usu to make some mistakes.
  11. Abuck, how is isu at stopping the run?
  12. Pulling for purple Kansas? My guess is more rooting against aTm and the SEC. No. I don't want KSU in the title game, so i was hoping for other teams to stay undefeated and keep them out.
  13. Pulling for purple Kansas? Gross. Of course not.
  14. Man, we just can't catch a break. Lost in double OT to texas tech. I do think Weis has us in the right direction. This team is leaps and bounds better already. If Crist had been half the QB his HS rating had promised, we'd have won 4-5 games by now.
  15. this should be a bloodbath.
  16. good lord we look like statues compared to the baylor offense.
  17. Texas is not very good, which is astounding considering all the talent.
  18. schematic advantage ha, it's more of a terrible QB and WR problem than terrible playcalling problem
  19. KU's #119 ranked total offense vs. Baylor's #120 ranked total defense. That should be fun. Unfortunately, Baylor can score very easily, so I think we lose big.
  20. How can that be? Exhibition games start this week? Doesn't matter. The decision can come after the season starts. Happened at KU to someone recently. Selby maybe?
  21. I don't see any potential losses on the schedule. They're very good.
  22. God damnit I'm pissed. Our db had an easy pick to close out this game. UT got every favorable call too. Guy tackles our Rb 7 yards out of bounds, no flag. Two timeouts granted to Mack Brown after the ball is snapped, saving penalties.
  23. Texas with the fake injury timeout killed us.
  24. KU has the worst special teams in the history of the universe.
