If it was in Lubbock I would pick Tech to at least cover the spread. Its going to be a good game but KState is going to run all over the Tech defense. Its going to be something like 48-28. the Big 12 defenses are atrocious.
That and KU is hopeless. I wonder who would win a battle royale between Kansas, Colorado and Boston College. We'd beat CU. I don't know enough to say either way about BC. Bill Snyder has to be one of the best coaches in the country. Amazing job he's doing at K-State. I think Snyder gets more out of his talent than anyone out there. If you're building a program you probably take Saban and Meyer over him, but off the top of my head, I'd take Snyder over everyone else. He's a genius.
KU nabs Wayne Selden (6'5", 225lb SG). Huge pickup. If we can land Julius Randle, aaron gordon, or joel Embiid, it will be a great class. (Already have Conner Frankamp, Brannon Greene, and Frank Mason) If only cat barber hadnt effed up.
Weird. A real, live human being is a more effective QB than the statue of Dayne Crist we've been rolling out there all season. Wish we could've figured that out a few games ago.
KU has pulled out all the stops (fake punt and fake FG on the same drive) and has kept the game tied. But KSU can move the ball at will. At some point, this will be a blowout. I still think we lose by 35+.
This reminds me of people talking about how the 8 hitter doesn't need to be a great hitter so who cares if player X can't hit. Those 1 or 2 scholarship players that don't see the court get there through failure to develop. When you lock in a scholarship for 4 years to a guy you know is never seeing the court, you're purposely handicapping yourself. The argument is whether Jackson is worth 2 scholarships, not "who cares the 13th guy never plays anyway" Fair enough. That's probably a better way of viewing it. I think the gamble was worth it in this instance.
He just took last years KU team to a title game. He's becoming a better coach as he goes along. Edit: plus it sounds like he dropped cat burglar after the Louisville visit. As did Louisville. Guess you can't steal from the players on campus during your official. Who knew? I just meant he's had some recruiting struggles, especially with point guards. We're recruiting some dude who decommited from Towson now. Yikes. So what allegedly happened with barber? He stole from a Louisville player while on his official?
Man, Self has lost his Witch Doctor status. Came up empty on Cat Barber, third place behind ND and UI for DJ. It has been a struggle on the recruiting trail for him the last couple of years.
I was cautiously optimistic about tis season for KU. Thought maybe we could snag five wins, six if we caught some breaks. Now, not so much. Pretty lackluster in our win over South Dakota State. Crist was unimpressive. Oh well. At least our players look in shape this year.
