    Right now, probably Rolen by a hair (not as good offensively, but much better fielder and probably a better baserunner). But A-Ram is younger and hasn't had the major injury ROlen has had (although ARam has been on the DL plenty), so if I were building a team, I'd take A-ram.

    In most cases, no. But most fans wont start actively booing a player until it's gotten so bad that it's beyond a doubt they aren't earning their keep. Granted some fans are spoiled rotten and would boo the likes of ARod, but most will wait for the fruitless flailing of Corey Patterson before letting the boo birds out. In those cases, I think fan emotion speaks wonders for what needs to be done. I'm sorry, was I implying I've been booing the man? I don't recall saying it, but I may have misled you unintenionally. I'm not booing Jacque Jones. I can just see why people are. No, I wasn't under the impression you've been booing. I wrote that in reference to the booers.

    They also have the wind pick up when the opposing team bats. Len can control the weather with his mind. And the clubhouse showers.

    vote with dollars And how would that let Jim Hendry know what we're upset about? Maybe we really wanted Furcal. Maybe we don't like the Jones signing. Maybe we don't like the Eyre signing. Maybe we don't like Brandon Sing making the team. For better or worse, this is the easiest way to push our opinions accross. It's also the easiest way to make us look like a bunch of petulant, whiny, a-holes. The guy has had 12 ABs. 12. Booing him now is ignorant.

    I think he was just placing the two lineups side-by-side. Yep. Just showing that, while their big three are superior to ours, overall, ours is more complete ( assuming Murton and Ronny don't suck.)

    Unfortunately, that's not too reflective of his career against us, which is pretty impressive. The cards lineup has definitely regressed, though. Taguchi, Encarnacion, and Miles are all pretty big steps back from Sanders, Walker, and Grudz. The Cards' known quantities (Rolen, Pujols, Edmonds) are still very formidable, but they're going to be relied on much more with the decline of supporting talent. To be honest, if Ronny and Murton give us even decent production, I think our lineups are pretty comparable. Eckstein---Pierre Encarnacion---Walker Pujols---Lee Edmonds---Aram Rolen---Jones Taguchi---Barrett Molina---Murton Miles---Cedeno Unfortunately, I'm guessing they'll upgrade LF at some point in the season.

    With HD, you'll be able to see Morgan sucking much more clearly. I fear for Marshall's safety when Albert comes up.

    I think it's pretty weak to be booing the guy already, and it's pretty short-sighted to call for his benching. Let's face it--he's not that great of a player, but he's better than he's shown (can't be worse), and people need to be slightly more patient. 4 games?

    My guess is that Hank will start on Sunday and catch Marshall. I can see Dusty wanting Hank's game calling abilities to help the rookie through his first start. That makes sense.

    I wonder if Hank White gets a start mañana. Barrett's struggled in 30 ABs, and Hank has a robust .400 BAA (in 5 abs)

    I was impressed. We can complain about hard-hit flyballs, but I'm sure Maddux was aware of the conditions and more willing to let guys hit the ball in the air. I'm not saying he won't be homer-prone this year, but Maddux locating today and, IMO, using the conditions to his advantage.
