  1. They were all sellouts, but tickets weren't going for all that much on the secondary market. "Soft" sellouts. I think the strike really took the wind out of that fanbase. Fulton County Stadium was an electric place during the 1991, 1992 and 1993 postseasons.
  2. Cards all the way. The Sox are trash.
  3. I thought they did in the Chicago market. No? Oh, that's right, they did. My bad. It was just the division series, right? Yeah, the only games shared are the ones on cable. MLB wants the games available on over-the-air television, so simulcasts are set up in the participants' cities.
  4. I thought they did in the Chicago market. No?
  5. I really can't think of any way that could have sucked any more. This is horrible.
  6. I agree in so much as that 3 years of "competitiveness" but failure has been harder than losing 95 and not ever really having any hope. Yeah. That, and the simultaneous success of our biggest rivals.
  7. Al Yellon has posted some pics of the project's early stages.
  8. See my post in the latest Sox game thread - really, after a Sox title, what else could happen? That would complete my list of Cub calamities. The Cubs have been rotten for a long time, but I think the last three years have been especially difficult.
  9. Embarrassments to endure before I die ... (1) Watch my boyhood dreams evaporate before my very eyes in a gut-wrenching, nationally publicised playoff collapse. (Got it, 2003!) (2) Get knocked from playoff contention by the Cincinnati Reds. (Got it! TWICE! 2004, 2005) (3) Watch the Cards clinch on us. (Got it, 2005!) (4) See Houston clinch against us. (Got it in 1997, relived it in 2005!) (5) Suffer through a White Sox title run. (?) Man, I don't need this.
  10. FYI, WFLD is running a story on the work after the game. I hope I can make it through their Sox crap without smashing my set.
  11. I think I read somewhere that many of the bricks from the old backstop were re-used during its reconstruction. They may be planning something similar, though I'm sure no one would miss one or two gone missing ...
  12. Responding? Who addressed you in the first place? I think my anger over this situation was well expressed. Either you're lying or you're just dense.
  13. In other news, why does your avatar look like a cropped photo of Kyle McLachlan getting "pleasured"? Completely unprovoked, posted for no reason other than to antagonize in a heated situation. Feel free to do what you like, just don't blame me for "starting" stuff.
  14. Funny? I won't draw out this tiff. You're the one who called names. I was just making a joke. Relax bro. You're the one trolling a game thread. If you must root for those bastards, the least you could do is take it to SoxTalk or WSI.
  15. What does the number of titles have to do with it? I can't see many Cubs fans feeling any connection to the Sox' run. The jersey says "Chicago," but they may as well be from another planet.
  16. I'd compare it to the type of hatred seen often in college sports. You don't see Kentucky fans running to support Louisville's tourney runs for the "good of the state."
  17. In other news, why does your avatar look like a cropped photo of Kyle McLachlan getting "pleasured"? I got shot, [expletive].
  18. This sucks donkey balls. Clement didn't quite kill me with the Cubs, so now he's come back to finish the job.
  19. Time for Clement to quit sucking. I'd forgotten all the ugly games he had for us.
  20. Those bricks were part of the pre-1937 outfield wall ... I'd go grab one.
  21. I'm for the Cards. The White Sox are consuming all my hatred at this point.
  22. Kinda like throwing $1,000 bills into a cesspool. Classy anyway.
