  1. He's right about the Daley stuff. One look at his smug face in the suites at the cell would send me running to another candidate. I'm sad that I don't have a chance to vote against the slime.
  2. I'm thrilled that his feelings were hurt by what he saw. Even in the throes of triumph those pricks are finding Cub-related crap to bitch about. What many saw as an unfair stereotype is becoming a clear depiction of reality.
  3. Not to mention the fact that he shunned a trip to Houston just so he could savor the win in Wrigley's shadow. That's absolutely pathetic.
  4. Scoop Jackson is the poster child for Sox fandom. Those comments are ridiculous.
  5. Reinsdorf, Guillen, AJ, Buerhle, Hawk, Bernie Mac ...
  6. "it's for Chicago" What a joke.
  7. I'm sick over this garbage, but I assume the MLB suits are quite pleased. The White Sox franchise was a black hole before; now MLB will have two viable franchises in a big-ass market.
  8. I thought I read this correctly ... if not, please elaborate on your point. That sounds like something out of the Jay Marriotti School of Structural Engineering. The ballpark is not going to up and fall over.
  9. Yes, by God, let's build a park no one wants to come to. Attendance bad, "real" fans good. This is ridiculous.
  10. "Cubs crushed by New Hampshire fan boycott." Seriously.
  11. Neither Wrigley nor the Trib can be blamed with any shred of legitimacy so long as our payroll is competitive with the league's best, as it has been for awhile now.
  12. I agree with everything said here.
  13. It wouldn't shock me to see Reinsdorf sell now that he's lived his boyhood dream. With a fresh world title (puke), solid TV contract and revamped park, the franchise likely won't be this attractive to buyers again for some time.
  14. I'll be too bitter to notice. Thanks for the heads up, though ...
  15. This makes too much sense, man.
  16. The key here is the fact that a precedent is in place. Atlanta and the Cards had to deal with the roof and noise; Chicago's bastard children should have to do the same.
  17. Anyone interested in the Chicago satellite account - please PM me.
  18. We have a winner!
  19. Yeah, you'd think since the city of Chicago hosts the World Series every other year that they'd be used to this by now and not devote ten minutes to the Sox. Some of the threads and comments made about the Sox crack me up. Had Sox fans shown the same envy, some of you same people would be dogging the Sox fans. I dog them all the time. True hatred knows no holiday.
  20. I've gone to great lengths to keep the games. In addition to MLBEI and mlb.tv, I have a satellite account set up just for the Chicago local stations, which allows me to see the FOX Saturday games and the Comcast games that don't make MLBEI. I get as many games now as I ever did in the old days; the only time I miss out is when they're on WCIU. Having said that, I do believe the TV changes will hinder the future development of nuts like me who would go all out to see the Cubs.
  21. My allegiance to the Cubs is as strong as anyone's. I have no affection whatsoever for the Bulls, Bears or Blackhawks.
