  1. No WGN, ESPN, newspapers, or sports talk radio for me. Unfortunately, my co-workers (Reds fans) are mounting a valiant effort to keep me up to date, though they are amazed at the amount of Cub mentions made by Ozzie and the other Sox trash.
  2. Don't we all?
  3. I've posted as much. But I'll lose sleep at the thought of even the most measly of sums being lost to Reinsdorf.
  4. Do you honestly think that possibility never occured to the man before now? It's more likely that a Sox title will cut into our revenues, making it harder for Hendry to maintain one of the league's biggest payrolls. How does that help us?
  5. Cosigned.
  6. The Sox are a more direct rival than the Cards could ever hope to be. As I've said before - if they win, we'll feel it in every aspect of the organization. The Cubs and Sox battle every freaking day of the year for ticket sales, merchandise income, public perception and corporate sponsorships. Every dime spent on the Sox is likely one that would have been spent at Wrigley had this sham of a postseason never occured. I don't think the Sox will take over the town or run us out of business if they win - but in any case, that trophy parade would be a costly one for the Chicago National League Ball Club, Inc. That doesn't even take into account the coming rain of abuse from the Sox' band of freaks.
  7. Then why defend them to the death time after time? Like the 2003 Marlins, they're a championship team with a bottom-feeder fanbase. Fans that don't show up don't deserve a winning team.
  8. Hateful and angry. The World Series is about to be forever tainted, and our fellow Cub fans are facing relentless persecution in their own city. What other reaction could one feel in the face of this travesty? I think I've stated pretty clearly what other reactions one could feel, so I won't bore everyone by repeating myself. You've managed to bring your Love of Sox to plenty of other threads. Why should this one be treated differently?
  9. We've been losing forever ... but this is different. I love this team, and I don't want to see those who have been spitting in our collective face for generations derive joy from a championship they frankly don't deserve. If the Sox win, most of those overjoyed with the conclusion will be people who despise the Cubs, and most of those despondent over the conclusion will be dyed-in-the-wool Cub fans. I don't know how anyone with Cub ties can miss that.

  11. "Chicago sports" fans buy that rubbish. "Cub" fans don't.
  12. What a vile turn of events. My hatred is blossoming ...
  13. I agree with everything you said, save for the part about congratulating those bastards.
  14. Check, check and check.
  15. "Pods" is nothing special.
  16. I bet ZZ is all over this "for the city" garbage.
  17. your not the only one. The NLCS was the only time I'm ever pulling for the Crapstros. Nobody hates Houston more than me. If I, of all people, can refocus my rage and bitterness in an appropriate manner, you can too. Screw the Sox.
  18. Nancy Faust has got to be the lamest organist in professional sports.
  19. Well then, it's imperative that the Astros win the next four so that we won't miss Clemens the second time around, no? "We" indeed. Does your girlfirend know you're plastering her image all over the internet ??? That's the lone Astro-clothed, remotely attractive female I could find on the web.

  21. Get with the program Wandy.
  22. Bush. League. That was the most unprofessional start to a World Series ever. Perfectly befitting the most small town of all the big town sports franchises.
