    What ? this isn't bad, Kinky Friedman has a book called the "Wussification of Texans" it sounds like it should be "The wussification of America" YOU ARE The cubs I knew use to play in blizzards in april, five inning when hurricane camille's outer bands hit the state, now we wither away from a little rain. I'm not the one bitching about this. If I were you, I'd get that withering away business taken care of.

    Hey Tribune, check out what Dusty hath wrought - Prior a shadow of his former self, pitching poorly in a meaningless game before a Cardinal crowd at an increasingly depressing Wrigley Field. This game is a microcosm of the wreck we've become. The man has sucked the life out of this organization - but dudes, he deserves that extension.

    I listened to a Royals game on the radio today. They had a one man booth. He wasn't particularly good. But the Sox' misery made it great.

    Won't it just take a Cardinal win this afternoon followed by a Houston loss tonight to clinch? Nevermind, Garwilly beat me to it. Yeah, but the way things have gone this season I'd be shocked if we were spared the indignity.

    I'll be good. I can't speak for the rest of Cardinal Nation. It's looking like a lot of Cub fans are dumping tickets for this series to make a little money. It should be a VERY red crowd for this weekend's games. ;) I can't blame you for living it up. If memory serves, the last visiting team to clinch a playoff berth at Wrigley was the '73 Mets, so it's not something that comes around all that often. I'm pretty much numb to the trappings of embarassment and fiasco thanks to Baker, so it won't bother me too much. Nothing short of a bunch of pathetic Sox rodents celebrating could ever top the horrible Marlins pennant party.
