Just going by Hendry's reported comments on WGN radio, I think Baker will be around at least until the ASB. I believe Hendry said something about giving him a chance to work his way out of it, or something like that. Anyway, using the old faithful injury excuse, the Cubs haven't been able to put their best team on the field. So when Lee, Wood, Prior, and Miller get back I think Hendry will give Baker some time to turn things around. As far as I'm concerned this is a win/win situation for the fans. If they don't play better Bakers will likely be fired. If they do play better maybe they can get back into the playoff picture. However, my worst fear is if they play better and get three or four games above .500 by the end of the season. Then all the sportswriters will be lauding Baker and he will likely be back, if he wants.
