  1. He is living up to our worst nightmares. He's the first REAL leadoff hitter the Cubs have had since 1922. He's fast and steals bases and lays down bunts. What else could you want in a leadoff hitter? Getting on base once in awhile would be nice. But as long as he is a REAL leadoff hitter that I guess will just have to be happy.

  3. Maddux needs to be a stopper here. C'mon Greg earn that $300,000 today. ($9 mill/30 starts). Kind of crazy isn't it?
  4. It's in transactions. Ryu wasn't exactly tearing up AAA either.
  5. I've already had two beers. By game time I should be just about ready to listen to this game.
  6. I just posted this in the other thread, I am concerned too, but I think someone once said Iowa's gun is always slow, so maybe he was pitching faster..?? anyone know? I wouldn't worry too much about the readings even if they are accurate. It was very cold and rainy. Not exactly conditions condusive to a pitcher's best stuff.
  7. Well, if JDE were trolling, we've made it a resounding success. For that I am eternally sorry. I should know better. It's real hard to have self-control when the Cubs are playing this bad. :-# :-#
  8. you really expect him to go from 60 pitches (if it's even 60, I think he's been at about 45 the past three weeks) to 90 pitches in two rehab starts after the way he's been handled up to this point? eatting some crow on this point. very surprised, and very happy, to see Wood throw nearly 90 pitches tonight. would have liked to see similar reports to his first rehab start, though. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make one more rehab start after tonights outting. I don't think you have to eat any crow (I hate that term). Everyone had their doubts. Nevertheless, I'm real happy he is comming along. And not a moment too soon. This team needs a real boost. Even if it just the psychological boost of having one of the aces back. The manager issues aside, there is no way this team is this bad. They are in a funck the likes of which I have never seen. They really need some good things to start happening. Hopefully, this is one of many to come.
  9. are you kidding?? Cano for prior and jones plus cash....done deal. we need a 2B So says, John Kruck! :D
  10. They do; it's on your mouse. Point taken, but there was no other purpose of this thread then to troll.
  11. I am so freaking mad right now. It's not that the Cubs lose it is how they lose. They are not a team with lesser talent trying their hardest. They freaking embarrass themselves game in and game out. Dusty has to go. Somebody has to pay for this.
  12. Why would anyone go on a CUBS MESSAGE BOARD and as his first post, post a link to a montage of Pulojs homeruns, when the Cubs are in the midst of terrible stretch of baseball, after the best player is on the DL for two months, if it weren't for the sole purpose of trolling? Wait don't answer that. I couldn't care less. I wish they had an ignore button for an entire section.
  13. All I know is the direction that this team is going is wrong. They are not just getting beat, they are embarrassing themselves, embarrasing themselves. Somebody should have to pay for this. It's one thing to get beat because of lesser talent on the field. But that is not what has been happening for the better part of the last month. Frankly, I don't care about excuses, something has to be done.
  14. How about Bozo T. Clown, Jon Cusack, Billy Coragan, Bill Murry, Denis Farina, Denis Franz, or Gary Sinece? They all know Chicago and have name recognition. They'd have to be good.
  15. You are correct sir! Well congratulations to us then. Isn't Albert GREAT?! Puts a smile on my face just saying the name. I know you also post on CardsTalk, correct? I post there frequently. Why don't you go back to Cardstalk and leave us alone to wollow in our misery. Mods please lock this thread and ban this guy. This is trollery (is that a word?) and its lowest.
  16. It's embarrassing, damned embarrassing. Baker has to go now.
  17. I suspect that Jones is sitting today because of his groin. Either it's bothering him, or Dusty is just being a little cautious due to the rain. Or the crowd.
  18. If I want to see a Bufoon I'll watch Sean Hannity on Fox News. I wish they would put people on who could analyze games and tell us things we don't know. Instead the show is 18 minutes of garbage and 12 minutes of crappy Coors light comercials. On a tangent. I wish Pete Coors would stop trying to be a polititian, at least his adds can be entertaining even if his beer is terrible.
  19. Neifi's about as quick as Ron Coomer. What do you mean? Those toothpick legs can pick em up and put em down. Those toothpick legs are being relied on to carry a gargantuan cranium about. I'm not kidding, that boy's head's like Sputnik. Looks like a coconut on a toothpick.

  21. Why not put Murton in the 3 slot? It looks like Dusty is going with the speed at the top philosophy today?
