  1. I love the "everyone does it" defense.
  2. His "stuff" might not be electric, but he's damned efficient. He also seems like he induces a horsefeathers ton of weak ground balls.
  3. Life is good. Founders Gumball head pregame. Seats right behind home plate and a Chicago dog in my lap.
  4. Getting ready for a little pregame libation. No Rizzo is a bummer.
  5. The comments are better than the article.
  6. Ken Star should go too.
  7. I went to the SB game today. It seemed like there were 10k people there, 9,500 of them kids. It was a mad house so we only stayed for 3 innings. Eloy is a physical specimen. In the few inns we were there he had a hit, a K, and a HBP. It looked to me like it was intentional but no one said anything. Also Eloy is a fan favorite, all the kids chant his name when he comes to the plate and his walk up music was the theme song to Spounge Bob Square Pants.
  8. When the Cubs are playing his favorite team. Ban this turd burglar.
  9. He's been cursed by the BABIP Gods and the umpires think his ankles are his knees and home plate is 3' across, he'll bounce back. Unfortunately, his defense is still really bad.
  10. lol, I fell asleep when they were down 0-1 in the 9th thinking that game was over. I'm just now checking the score. I feel awesome. #teamofdestiny
  11. I've seen some amazing stuff at baseball games, for example I saw Barry Bonds hit a broken bat line drive home run down the RF line at Joe Robby/Blockbuster/Whatever Stadium. But the most amazing thing I've seen is Sanders throw a ball completely out of Wrigley from just behind second base.
  12. When the Pirates were good (Bonds era) I was sitting in the bleachers and someone called Andy VanSlyke a butt pirate. I got nothing. At a Yankees game in 97 I was sitting in the RF bleachers and I have a Kalamazoo shirt on. Some knucklehead yelled, "only [expletive] come from Kalamazoo". I said, "maybe so, but you just called Jeter a [expletive]." The look on his face was priceless. Later he came back to me an said he was sorry. I was pretty wasted by that time and made the mistake of telling him no hard feelings, but you are still an ass-hole." During the singing of YMCA a gang of about 15 dudes surrounded me and my friends and sung the Y R U gay version of the song. Lesson learned, be nice to gangs of ass-holes.
  13. Id love to see the Cubs grab Lucroy at the trade deadline and DFA Mintero.
  14. I was born January 6th, 1969. The future looked bright for the northsiders when I was born, The Cubs finished strong in '68 with an 84-78 record, but we all know how that turned out.
  15. They win and the Cubs are still in their head. Group therapy is in order, me thinks.
  16. Can we lock this thread until next year?
