  1. Willy to the Rays rumors heating up.
  2. Hopefully, he blows his knee out on the first play.
  3. Lol, Cardinals Twitter going apoplectic at the thought of having to give up Carlson and two top prospects for Soto.
  4. I agree, and it makes little sense in the world of NFL football.
  5. Here understatement.
  6. Aren't the Brewers in 1st place in the division? I'm telling you someone in the Cardinals org has sold his sole to lucifer.
  7. the Cardinals draft & develop amazingly well Their 5th rounder from last year was basically called a plug and play 4th starter and is graded a 50. The HS SS they took in the 2nd in 2020 is a 50+, excelling in AA already.Yes, most Cub fans have no idea how bad the Cubs are at this sort of thing.
  8. And an interesting thread: tl;dr McKinstry's strength is his hit tool, and one way to measure that is how consistently good a player's launch angle is. McKinstry rates very well here, and on top of his left handedness and positional flexibility it could be needed help, since the Cubs are last in launch angle standard deviation(the Dodgers are 1st for comparison) If they limit the shift next year this is the type of athletic player that could become quite useful. I like the outcome of the trade.
  9. Big picture, small picture In the big picture, it would not be a good thing for the Cubs if the Cardinals get Soto. In the small picture, it might be a good thing for the Cubs if the Cardinals get Soto as the losers in the bidding war for Soto might be more interested in Happ and Willy. Overall, the Cardinals getting Soto would suck so much only mitigated by the potential loss of the top of their system.
  10. Main thing is he has a tendency to throw hittable pitches. Last inning was a good example
  11. Sampson imploding after two outs.
  12. Cubs are off tomorrow. Should be an interesting day for an off day.
  13. If the Cardinals do get Soto let’s at lest hope they paid a fair price.
  14. The pitch lab needs to get better at teaching how to throw strikes.
  15. Mervis (keeps autocorrecting to Merica) is the real deal. The Cubs may have their new 1st baseman. I hope he gets some time with the big club this fall.
  16. lol, the Cubs are going to wind up trading no one.
  17. Is Zaidman doing this game on his own?
  18. If Happ’s market is hot I hope Jed holds out for a steal. He should at least bring back Javy’s return if not better.
  19. Some of this is just [expletive], Willson is among the best at his position in baseball and the Cubs have nobody to replace his production. He's likely to remain so for the length of his next contract. That's it. The Cubs organization is stupid. You can be as analytic as you want, I don't care. He's provided more surplus value to the Cubs than he is likely to exceed in his next contract. horsefeathers them. This isn't about sentimentality or cold financial calculations, because both of those say he should be extended or resigned or whatever it is you want to call it. This is about assholes making stupid decisions about winning baseball games and treating one of their best players in the last decade like a used condom.
  20. lol, Pat and Ron were just doing that the other day during a game in Philly.
  21. This one hurts a lot more than last year for a lot of reasons.
  22. Kills me. Like I’m 7 years old again and they traded Madlock.
