  1. Jed always plays things close the vest. And I want no part of Suarez for anything. He’s too streaky and he’s in a funk right now.
  2. Such great memories of Harry, Ryno, day baseball and the Cubs being good for the first time in my lifetime. I went to a game in Jackson, TN, after the Cubs moved their affiliation to Siverville (Now Knoxville) just to see him manage. He got tossed in the 3rd inning, and I yelled, "We still love you, Ryno," and he smiled while walking into the dugout.
  3. Agree. And I'll add, the Ricketts will find one just like him if it wasn't going to be him.
  4. I think it was the 2nd guy.
  5. This pitcher for MB is gassing the ball past the hitters. He’s got some awful mechanics but he’s mowing them down. One hit threw 6
  6. Get him out of there before he hurts himself. He’s got no command tonight
  7. Gore for sure or even Cease.
  8. God forbid a prospect has a bad game while he's in attendance.
  9. Don't make too much out of the KC series. It was a let-down series after Boston. The same thing happened after the St. Louis series. It's hard to maintain the energy and concentration during 162 games. This is a contending team that's going to get measurably better when Assad, Tallion, and Amaya get back to the team. That's without any additions from the trade deadline. They can match up with anyone.
  10. All of the Cubs top prospects have big question marks. For me his K rate is a glaring red flag. I’m going to let Jed and Co work. Fifteen year old me remembers when they traded Mel Hall and Joe Carter for Rick Sutcliffe. I couldn’t believe it. He was 4-5 with a 5something ERA. It worked out well afterwards.
  11. Games almost over and it doesn’t matter but this horsefeathers home plate umpire is for horsefeathers
  12. I remember when he went through his control problems watching him in Jackson TN throw the ball over the catchers head to the backstop several times. I don’t know many who have come back from the type of control problems he had.
  13. The Cubs are likely to make the playoffs, at the very least. If they make it into the playoffs, they will need to be playing great baseball at the time they start, have a solid top-three pitching rotation, and a lockdown closer. So.. They need a TOR pitcher. The horsefeathers Brewers aren't going to win every game. But they do have the ingredients to go far in the playoffs. I don't think their offense is good enough, but let's see what happens at the deadline.
  14. Exactly. That is the first test when they get to MLB. So many prospects never pass. He'll still have to prove he can catch up to big boy gas, but we know he can do it at the 99th percentile for his age/competition.
  15. Taco will back down.
