    The Yankees are reeling. Their bullpen is in shambles. If the Cubs can keep it close, there is no reason they can't win any or all of these games. They traditionally do not play well in the Bronx, though.

    This is a letdown series after the Cardinals. It happens. They are probably looking forward to the ASB. I'd like to see them win tonight and take 2 of 3 in the Bronx, but they never play well there. I went to all three games the first time the Cubs played the Yankees in new/old Yankee Stadium and it was a blood bath.

    I know they are managing Wiggins work, but could they also be sitting him for a possible trade after the ASB? Rojas was taken out and so was Alcantara. Maybe conspiracy theories have infecting my brain.

    More for fun than anything else. Why I like Ford- He's probably available (not for this type of trade, likely), and he's pretty good. Amya is having a hard time staying healthy, and catchers are hard to come by.

    I don't pretend to be anything other than an enthusiastic follower of the Cubs and the things associated with them, such as the minor leagues and keeping an eye on this year's crop of draft prospects. However, this kid may be the least suitable pick for the Cubs, given their current needs. I know it's mostly about best player available, and if they pick him, well, they've earned my trust. But good gravy, would that be an unsexy pick?

    Given that they were planning this year as a "reset" year, I'd say not too badly. The way the playoff is formatted, though, anyone hanging around .500 is technically in it. They are a bad team by measurement and there is not a lot of waxing talent on that squad. Wilson looks like a pretty good 1st B, though. He should be able to fetch a decent prospect.

    Sucky suck sucks You know the Cubs are a good team and the Cardinals are not when in order to win they need a bullpen game and errors and a bullpen meltdown to win. cubs had no business even being in this game
