Mainly the bullpen? The offense hasn't been too great either. The offense shouldn't have to score 10 runs against the freaking Brewers to get a W. yesterday they only needed to score 4.

well lee is hurt and the other option would have been to PH a guy like reed johnson and then put aaron miles at first base. of course hoffpauir doesn't bat there if the team is healthy. that's on lou for being a bad manager, not on the bullpen.

some decent options out there. i actually like branyan quite a bit, but he'll have a low average (eventually) and offer no SBs. rolen isn't that good anymore and is playing over his head. reynolds comes with the same problems as branyan. i guess i'd go branyan, blalock, teahen in that order. -

that's probably more an indictment about the quality of the cubs' minor league system than it is an endorsement of the players you're discussing. -

cantu isn't really a third baseman, although i suppose he's passable there.

varlamov was awful. he was the reason they lost that game. there was at least one, maybe two really obvious penalties that weren't called on the caps' third goal. carolina and their 35 fans must be really excited right now.
