  1. he won't? this is lou piniella, he makes knee jerk decisions all the time.
  2. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/290516116_Astros_Cubs_127523949_lbig.png LOOK OUT BELOWWWWWWWWWWW

  4. as long as he's throwing strikes and locating well, he will be good. he certainly has the stuff to succeed at the major league level.
  5. officially? this is so dumb. it was obvious 2-3 hours ago, just based on the radar, that the afternoon was going to be a complete washout. instead of postponing the game early, they wait until right around when the game is supposed to start, meaning that lots of people have left work or traveled into the city for a game that was never going to be played. [tinfoilhat]maybe it's a conspiracy by public transit, local parking folks and wrigleyville bar owners to make money on a day the cubs aren't going to play. [/tinfoilhat]
  6. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/gamel-time did you miss watching ryan braun give away runs at third base last year? well wait til you get a load of this guy! but seriously, a lineup of: weeks hart braun fielder cameron gamel hardy kendall pitcher is pretty beastly. hopefully their pitching and bad defense will be a disaster. (gamel will probably only play in a platoon for now)
  7. or perhaps because he had money on the game.
  8. it'd be good if they can get this one in, because milton would be sitting out with a wet outfield, which is a good idea anyway. but yeah, judging by the radar, this ain't happening.
  9. 1. longoria - moving him ahead of pujols based on the age difference - 5.5 years (probably more) 2. pujols 3. hanley 4. wright 5. miggy cabrera 6. braun 7. lincecum 8. justin upton 9. jose reyes 10. matt wieters :)
  10. and a non-torn labrum too.
  11. well that sure looks like a fundamental misunderstanding of the game of basketball.
  12. wieters went 2-5 with 2 homers and 4 RBI tonight. (been waiting all year for that, he's been either hurt or not hitting a lot most of the year)
  13. that was a bad rebound by thomas. congrats to the canes. there must be ones of people going nuts in the streets of raleigh, or charlotte, or greensboro, or wherever they play.
  14. vitters is 3-3 in the second game, continuing his quest to break the minor league record for singles.
  15. lou is about as impulsive as a five year old. hoffpauir makes an error in the outfield? i don't think we'll play him out there. wells has a decent start (1.4 WHIP but 0 ERA in 5 innings) and now he's a guy you just can't let go? give me a break.
  16. oh i get it wangs, that's clever.
