    vitters is 1-3 with a 2-run double, 2 K's, walk and HBP. peoria scored two in the top of the 9th to tie it, but in cub fashion, failed to get another run home with the bases loaded and 1 out. junior lake has 3 singles in 5 ABs. samardzija threw a "complete game": 7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 9 GO/9 FO. robinson was 3-4 (all singles). in the second game, cotts gave up 2 walks, 1 hit and 1 ER in his inning of work. keep up the good work, neal! tennessee lost 10-7. guyer was 2-5 with a double, wright 2-4, smith 2-5 with a double, castillo 3-4 with a home run. lambert got drilled. daytona won 3-2, castro was 1-4 with a double. dolis had a solid outing, 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 7 GO/5 FO.

    wieters tripled on a 95 mph verlander fastball and hit a ground rule double on a 99 mph verlander fastball, but also struck out and then grounded out on a 100 mph zumaya heater. from gameday, verlander hit 100-101 mph four times and zumaya did it on 10 of his 12 pitches; the two that didn't hit 100 were breaking balls.
