  1. sorry roast, i didn't realize that you didn't start yesterday's game thread. i thought you lost and i was up.
  2. seems like his bat is just slower. he's watching a lot of pitches on the outer half and hoping to get bailed out by the umps. it seems unlikely to me that it's a matter of the league figuring him out - he was plenty good last year, even the later part of the season. it may be that he just put too much weight on in the offseason and is back to being the mediocre hitter that he looked like every year but the two that he was in good shape.
  3. i don't think it's that bad just because when wells has a bad start or two, knee-jerk lou will put marshall back in. as long as wells pitches well he'll stay in the rotation.
  4. if ryno becomes manager i may launch into a profanity-laced tirade that will get me banned from nsbb for months. he was my favorite player growing up but he would be a God-awful manager.
  5. I dunno about that. Indy seems to have problems supporting both the Colts and Pacers at the same time, let alone a 3rd big league franchise. plus they are in the middle of a lot of other franchises (2 in chicago, plus the tigers, indians and reds)
  6. wegman's (northeast supermarket chain) makes awesome hoagies. the best that i've had are all from local places around philly, though.
  7. Strike 2 and 3 were both easily outside, with the latter being the worse of the two. Can't blame Soto for taking that, it was a half a foot outside. my eyes (not to mention gameday) disagree.
  8. we're getting shut down by eric milton, that's embarrassing.
  9. why? he ran on a guy who was on the ground; the guy just made a great play.
  10. apparently "high energy guys" = "white" in steve phillips' book.
  11. Considering the Dodgers have only had one hard hit ball, I'm willing to give Marshall a pass on this game. ...for now. the early ones weren't hard hit but the 7-8-9 guys all hit the ball hard.
  12. i'd crap my pants if the announcers actually said anything about how lucky the dodgers have been this season on balls in play.
  13. the dodgers are piling on that ridiculous .334 team BABIP
  14. i'm surprised there aren't any bad middle relievers still floating around. you know, the norm charlton, terry mulholland, jesse orosco types.
  15. vitters gives the chiefs a 2 run lead with a home run in the 14th!
  16. don't stop believing that the runaway choice to win the stanley cup might win it again!!!
