  1. i can help you with that question - you're a bad manager.
  2. which makes it even dumber to bunt there. you burn a position player in extra innings trying to lay down a bunt with bad hitters coming up. what's the point?
  3. solid managerial decision as always, lou.
  4. ok this pitcher is really good and fontenot, soto and blanco are really bad. i'm feelin' it.
  5. dammit now i have to waste more time watching the cobs :x
  6. chipper should not see a pitch that isn't 4 feet outside.
  7. exactly what i'm thinking. it's 10 right now, i need a nap and need to be in to work by 3. hurry up and lose and i get 4 hours of sleep.
  8. ascanio isn't that good, marmol has been bad this year, guzman is pretty inexperienced and probably will get hurt next week (just playing the odds on that last one). there's just not much to work with down there. you can mix and match turds all you want, but at the end of the day they're still just a bunch of turds in a row.
  9. who should close? marmol and his tremendous walk an inning? everyone down there sucks ass except guzman, apparently.
  10. horrendous. special thanks to marmol and gregg for continuing their piss poor work.
  11. hopefully he's as broken as he was before the all-star break last year when everyone was saying he had to be hurt.
  12. You are not. frankly you'd be crazy to think that marmol HAS been very good this year.
  13. at this point i'd almost prefer gregg to marmol.
  14. like this is surprising? marmol has been bad this year, regardless of the ERA. good pitchers don't walk a batter an inning.
  15. 22 walks in 23 innings. spectacular.
  16. i was really going to get my hopes up if he got through chipper... unfortunately larry is just a great hitter.
  17. not a free agent signing. jeff blauser and steve beuchele are definitely on my list.
  18. You knew he was going to turn into a decent pitcher that we got zilch in return for. Always happens. Wasnt the Cubs return based on his performance? Yep. hopefully he wins the cy young and we get wieters, markakis or adam jones.
  19. finally ran out of luck picking women's softball.
  20. i'm just glad i'll be around and near a computer this year during the draft. most years i'm either at a special olympics meet, and in 2007 i was in atlanta for a wedding.
  21. A) No, the Cubs could not win the world series. B) The Cubs are one of ESPN's most pimped out teams, they would ride that story until the freaking cows came home and burned down the town again. apparently people haven't noticed how frequently the cubs have been on espn this year. i know that the yankees and red sox are covered more - which makes sense since those are the most popular teams - but the cubs are given a lot of press too.
  22. not often you see four passed balls by one catcher in a game.
  23. someone needs to go jeff gillooly on vance before he gets too big of a lead.
