  1. no siragusa, the hardest time to get at the quarterback is not the time when nobody blocks you and you get to run at him for free.
  2. Clearly they would like to hold the Eagles to FGs. They'll give up yardage and be just fine with it. well that's a good strategy, as our offense is usually really good at getting into the red zone and then doing jack [expletive]
  3. not really. he's a rookie who was drafted in the 4th round and has played mostly on special teams. i mean, he probably sucks, but it's hard to make that judgment right now.
  4. there really isn't "the real problem" with this team. i mean, the offense was lousy last year, but the defense kind of sucked and the relief pitching was a complete disaster. the only thing that wasn't bad was the starting pitching, and lilly was traded, so now they lack depth.
  5. he probably got them to play mediocre teams and a pretty good team without its starting quarterback.
  6. yeah i think he had a really good reputation defensively and then people gradually realized it wasn't really true. i guess he's all right but the lack of power and below-average defense in CF are huge problems, and i wouldn't really give up anything for him.
  7. build a ground ball staff and grow that grass out HIGH. that's my formula for cub success. plus get better hitters and stuff.
  8. i think the call might have been correct, too. if it was wrong it was really close and not such an egregiously bad call that it warranted a complete meltdown. he should be angry at himself for getting picked off at a time when there is absolutely no reason to get picked off.
  9. dmitri patterson is more a nickel corner than a starter, so we're already exposed at one CB spot. i have no idea who this other guy is but chance are he would have been starting if he were any good, since patterson isn't that good and ellis hobbs sucked this year. if the bears had good WRs we wouldn't have a chance but since your WRs are below average it might not totally kill us.
  10. probably not. it's worth looking into though. if he wants to go to new york, philly isn't too far away. i'm not big on the "clear salary and hope for big time star" because you end up being terrible like the nets and then not getting any stars.
  11. OU has run almost twice as many plays as oklahoma st... they've definitely carried the play in that game.
  12. i don't know about the hierarchy of who goes where but i do know that the spots would just be filled by bowl eligible teams from non-bcs conferences. don't know about the holiday bowl question. if stanford gets selected to a bcs bowl you'd think there would be some pac 10 teams with mediocre records playing in some normally-solid bowls.
  13. wasn't mitch mustain like an all-world QB recruit just a couple of years ago? now it's like he can't run an offense to save his life.
  14. see, i would probably do that deal with a #1 pick thrown in, or maybe bj mullens or something (still don't think he'll be much, but he's a big body with some potential). krstic comes off the books this offseason and i still think harden can be a good player in a place where he's not dominated by two stars scoring 50 ppg by themselves. the other option is to just dump him for an expiring contract (peja stojo's contract, for example) and then make a run at melo in the offseason.
  15. the sixers suck so badly. i hope we trade iguodala since he's a good player and has some value as a solid scorer and very good defender. we're not going anywhere this year or the next couple of years; get some draft picks and young players and tank the season.
  16. hawai'i had a RB go for 327 yards and 3 TDs on just 19 carries today. kansas state and north texas each have a RB over 250 yards... somehow k-state has managed to give up 41 points to a bad north texas team.
  17. so i take it they were predicted to be undefeated last year in football?
  18. To be fair, the offense really isn't helping them out either. the offense hasn't allowed 500 yards in 3 quarters of play.
  19. nice defense northwestern
  20. Too bad the NCAA is primed and ready to land a deathblow on your university. hahaha don't hold your breath
  21. i just found out today that shaq is on the celtics.
  22. can you explain your disdain for boise?
  23. that kicker may want to just transfer now rather than going back to boise.
  24. oregon barely beat cal, which got blown out by nevada. yet this game is evidence that boise is nowhere near the best team in the country. right. Oregon has to play more than 3 real teams this year though. that's nice. boise is #2 in the sagarin predictor. they're #4 in the sagarin ratings. they won "at" virginia tech, which is running the table in the acc. they've beaten major conference teams before. yet some of you act like they should just go play in the corner. it's such a joke.
