    i'm pretty well over the steroid thing too, but kevin brown is a borderline candidate and probably did a truckload of steroids, so that's enough for me to stop thinking about his candidacy and say no.

    penn state shot barely over 20% from the field, and made 3 out of 27 threes. everyone not named talor battle shot below 15% and scored 18 points. you aren't going to win many games that way.

    Do you really believe this? All that smoke and no fire... Y'all happen to get the #1's from MS, AK, LA, FL's #3 player, GA's #5 and the top JUCO player and it's totally because Auburn is just that badass and Chizik is such a draw. C'mon. this is a pretty lazy way of accusing a school of cheating. according to the rivals and scout rankings they were not even in the top 10 as far as average # of stars; their class rated #4/#6 because they had a crapload of scholarships to give out (32). it's not like they bagged a USC class with all blue chip prospects.

    i liked tim thomas better when he sucked last year. 41 saves on 41 shots against us tonight, and there were a lot of good scoring chances. second time this year we've been shut out in a 40+ shot effort.

    the pistons had 42 points at halftime against the heat and now have 55 points with 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. 13 points in 18 minutes... nice.

    i failed and posted this in another thread... apparently this happened longer ago than i realized. anyway, here's some analysis from jeff passan. it is a bad deal for tulo because he "lacked the fortitude to chase the greater glory that awaited him elsewhere" and for the rockies because they can't afford his salary. jeff passan sucks.

    7 years, $132 million deal kicks in after the 2013 season. the dollar amount seems reasonable but i don't really know why they needed to give him a huge deal when he already had 3 years left on his contract. he played only 101 games in 2008 and 122 games this past year, so the injury risk is real. also, jeff passan has managed to write an article criticizing both tulo and the rockies for this deal. apparently tulo "lacked the fortitude to chase the greater glory that awaited him elsewhere" and the rockies can't afford that type of deal on an $80 million payroll. jeff passan is a douchebag who is wrong a lot.

    I feel your pain. I will be watching two teams that A&M beat play for the conference championship when we had the same conference record as those two teams. ATM fans are starting to sound like Texas fans in 2008, but with a much less stable leg to stand on. I hesitate to respond for fear of simpletons thinking I am crying about the situation, but how do we not have a stable leg to stand on? Nebraska finished 6-2 in conference. OU finished 6-2 in conference. A&M finished 6-2 in conference. We beat both of them head-to-head. I understand that per Big 12 rules, we are left out. That doesn't make me happy, but that's the way it goes. well nebraska is in another division so there's no point in griping about that, and there was a three-way tie at the top of the big xii south, with each team going 1-1 against the other two. so if you guys were in then oklahoma state would have been in the same position. you can't break a tie without someone getting "screwed" (even though it's really not getting screwed at all)

    that's kind of a weird one. almost every other state school there's a dominant campus - for example, there are plenty of penn states, but the one at university park is clearly the main campus and then the others are just branch campuses. UC berkeley is smaller than UCLA and not much bigger than some of the others (davis, riverside, san diego, irvine). i guess it's probably just "cal" because it is the oldest.

    if andy reid were good at clock management, he would've called time out when the bears got their first down to go first and goal. that's not his strong suit though. to be fair, most nfl coaches don't do it either. our secondary is so bad without samuel.

    happy coincidence for you that our offense is drive, don't finish. i swear most of our TDs come from 40+ yard plays. once we get into the red zone we roll over and die.

    No. Bears twice. been a very clean first half. i saw one play where it an eagle lineman held briefly and it wasn't called. i don't feel like the refs have been missing much either... both teams are just playing within the rules.
