  1. ahahahahahahahahahahaha way to go giants
  2. jeez KC is just loaded with young talent.
  3. first they have to consult nancy pelosi. as for the team, i play volleyball competitively and loved going to watch their matches - not only because they always win but because it's a fun atmosphere and they are so skilled. they've been a recruiting machine for about 5 years now and show no signs of slowing down. they'll need to replace their two best defensive players for next season, though. http://grfx.cstv.com/schools/psu/graphics/ncaa/ncaa-2010-champphoto6.jpg
  4. well if it's a charity auction i'd have a hard time being too mad at her, since all the money is (presumably) going to a good cause.
  5. Unfortunately he's still a Cub. He spent much of the second half of the season on the DL, which is why you didn't see him in August or September. also because nobody watched the games in august or september.
  6. of course their opponents have a good combined record, they got to play the lions.
  7. what's doug glanville up to these days? besides world of warcraft conventions, i mean.
  8. this is my favorite "Overreaction Before Even Knowing What The Contract Would Be" in this thread.
  9. good - beating pitt at home then going to montreal the next night for another win. bad - chris pronger suffering a foot injury :x
  10. wait brackman is good now? i haven't been paying attention at all.
  11. lol yeah i noticed that as well
  12. man, that's a buttload of cash. the phillies are a big market team and draw well, but they've already got some big commitments (including a really stupid $20M a year commitment to howard). i'm curious about how much they're paying him in 2010 and if there's any deferred money, because right now they'd have to be looking at something like $170M for the 2010 payroll.
  13. let the record show that four days after you posted this, the phillies signed the best free agent of the 2010-11 offseason.
  14. well, some reporters are definitely [expletive] the bed. since he said recently that he had no plans to retire, if he does step down soon, it would certainly seem that he has been told to resign or be fired.
  15. it is if you can get him at good value, which this contract would seem to be. oswalt can come off the books after this year if they turn down his $16M option, hamels will be a free agent after 2011 (not sure if it's UFA at that point), they can turn down lidge's option of $12.5M, ibanez goes away. they do have some money coming off the books. the downside is that rollins hits UFA and becomes much more expensive to keep around. their offense isn't as great as their reputation without werth and if howard and ibanez continue to slide backward.
  16. GO EAGLES
  17. lots of people are saying it's done - cliff lee to the phillies. pretty great that yankee fans being complete a-holes to lee's wife may have prevented them from signing him.
  18. time for houston to get lit up through the air like they always do and baltimore to kick an easy FG to win. houston really needed that coin toss.
  19. andre johnson is really good at football.
  20. http://wvgazette.com/Sports/201012131877 where are you getting this stuff from?
  21. Is your championship in week 17? no, 4 teams make the playoffs - week 15 is semifinals and 16 is the final.
  22. i guess they want to get rid of blanton and ibanez, but they'd have to eat money to get rid of those two. and i'd imagine that any offer would have to be heavily back-loaded since they have almost $150 million committed for next season.
  23. thank you to ahmad bradshaw and andre johnson for scoring touchdowns. i needed to win this week to make the playoffs and was facing a guy who had two empty spots and another lineup spot wasted on an injured player. but jay feely kicked about 35 field goals yesterday and my entire team decided to not show up this week (cutler, maclin, greg jennings, ivory, plus i lost frank gore for the year). that would have been such an awful way to lose.
