Is anybody else listening to the Score? They just said the Cubs may have finally found a taker for Kerry Wood. Does this mean they have been actively shopping him in the offseason? They make it sound like more than just Phil Roger's fantasy.

Wonder if Bruce has the inside scoop?

More than likely it means the "Score" has been reading the Trib and it's a slow news day. They likely are re-reporting Rodger's column.

ESPN 1000 is reporting that Rotoworld is reporting that the Score is reporting that Phil Rogers is reporting the Cubs may or may not have a deal to send Kerry Wood to Texas. We'll have more on this when we have more on this.

Again, well played!

This thread has been a comedy gold mine thus far.

So the Rangers trade Soriano and Mench for prospects, when they don't really have a replacement for either? The A's trade Zito for Soriano, when they have the superior-in-every-way Ellis at 2B?

The Rangers do get a big name pitcher though and doesn't Young play 2b?

We get Zito in the proposed deal. They could move Young back to 2B, but what does that solve? Now they have a hole at SS.

EDIT: Forgot about Wood.

Todd Walker is in the rumored deal as well. I would think that he'd play 2nd for the Rangers. Young would stay at short.

Well, the Score accomplished something. They got a couple more people to tune in to listen.

My mind is mush in this thread. Never mind me, I'll just go back to making fun of krazy Phil Rogers.

Typical from the score, I just read the article and there is nothing in it about a trade. Phil says that the Cubs MAY make a pitch for Burnett, which would then possibly make Wood available. He's speculating on that, then it says Beane might be interested in Soriano and then the Cubs could possibly trade him for Zito. The damn score didn't even buy the paper!!

The Score is saying that Phil Rogers has a report in the Sunday edition of the paper that the Cubs have a 3-way going with Oakland and Texas in which they trade Wood, Walker, $6million, and prospects and will end up with Zito, Mench and Soriano.

Discuss.

I like parts of that deal - namely that the Cubs end up with Zito and Soriano, and jettison Wood. Oakland must be getting some excellent prospects.

If true, I agree. I know that Woody's ceiling is likely higher than Zito's, but at this point do we know that Woody is healthier than Zito?

Rogers has been trying to trade Wood to Texas for 5 years.

So have half the hosts on the Score.

I just called The Score and when asked what my comment was going to be I told them that because of Wood's NTC the Cubs have to get his permission before a trade can be completed. The phone screener asked someone else in the room if Kerry had a NTC (insulting), then came back to me and said no he doesn't because he's not a 5-10 guy! I insisted that he did and that clown disconnected my line. I wish someone else would tell those fools the truth. Holmes and Cannelias are talking like the Cubs can ship Kerry out without his consent. :? :x

I don't get it. What does Oakland get?

This sounds like bs to me. Lay off the sauce, Phil.

Lou Canelis is a low rent loser. He's been fired numerous times. He hasn't even read the paper. Just a loser, but then again, he fits in with the score.

Blueheart,

just email them. Maybe then they'll bother to research their banter before putting it on to the air.

Morans. You think since it's their job they would know this, it's not like it wasn't reported when he signed.

I emailed them, but it is the score and they never let the facts get in the way of giving their half baked opinions. They are embarrassing as a sports station.

I just sent the email with links to the truth. They are serious clowns!

Looks like the talk of trading Wood, hit a nerve in many posters.

Well, it's not really that. It's that people talk about trading Wood like it's easy. First off, he's coming fof a shoulder surgery. He doesn't have all that much value right now. Why would you trade low like that? Also, ignoring the NTC is stupid and lazy journalism. His wife is from Waukegan, they're expecting their first child, so why would he waive it and move his family to Texas?

That's what it is.

I just tuned in for a minute to see what they were saying. They were talking about how Zito could cause trouble in the clubhouse because he's "such a weirdo" because he does yoga and crap. They also were talking about how Dusty couldn't control Pierzynski when they both were in San Francisco. Last I checked Dusty wasn't the manager when Pierzynski played for the Giants. Morans!!!!
