Nowhere did I say he's a tier A player, I said he's a good player and I honestly believe he is. He plays above average defense, and is consistant at the plate with upper mid-range power, with upper mid-range speed.

 

What's so crazy about a 270/25/80 line from Jacque in STL playing some quality OF defense? I'd pay 2/10 or 2/11 for that, not 3/20.

Maybe that he's hit 25 homers once ever, hasn't hit even .255 in 3 years, is a poor base stealer, has below average power (okay home run power, but far foo few doubles and triples for a guy with his speed), and has never even come close to his career year numbers, showing a very steady and fast regression?

Believe it or not Jacque has one of the quickest bats in the AL.

 

Why not sign Rondell White for $2M instead? :lol:

 

 

Honestly, I've always thought Rondell White was a good player, he's just not dependable.

You're severely underestimating the power of St. Louis' system as a whole.

I can't imagine this will happen...they've got at least three positions to fill in the order, and they're still interested in pitching as well...which has been said to be their top priority. I could see Jones coming to StL for a one year deal if they spend a bunch of money on their other holes, but I seriously doubt the Cards would commit that kind of money/years to a mediocre (perhaps I'm being kind) free agent as their first signing of the offseason when they have a standing 3 year deal/27 million (I think) on the table for Giles.

 

Makes no sense whatsoever, won't happen.
