I have heard on many sites that Jenkins is on the block. I have also heard that the Brewers would really like to move him and his 8 million salary. He batted around .292/.375 last year. With 25 homers and 86 RBI. If the Brewers want to get rid of him, I think he would be a perfect fit between D-Lee and A-ram.

8 mil a year is alot for that kind of production. i think wilkerson could put up at least those #'s in wrigley and he makes less than 1/2 of jenkins. hopefully brad is available.

Jenkins is as streaky as a player as you will find in all of sports. Although, he is a good defender and has played both LF and RF. Then again, I have also seen this guy strike out 5 or 6 times in one game. Not worth the 7 million he makes.

If Milwaukee picked up half of his salary, and we were not able to land Giles, Abreu, one of the Cincy outfielders, or someone on that line, I wouldn't mind him. He'd beat Jacque Jones or someone like that as a plan B or C.

Jenkins is interesting. He's on the wrong side of 30, but he's a good player. For me, he'd be along the Cliff Floyd level of guys I would want around. Second tier, right after Giles, Dunn, Abreu. He has proven to overcome his biggest difficulty, staying healthy, the last 2 years. He produced an .888 OPS last season. If he can stay on the field, he may be better than most options 32 and over, because he could still be in his prime since he spent most of his prime years on the DL.

He has 2 years left on his deal for $8M/year, I believe. He's a career .281/.349/.508 hitter, and while I'd like better OBP from the middle of the order, a mid 8's OPS is not bad. I certainly wouldn't expect Milwaukee to eat half of his contract.

Add: Jenkins was also amazing after the break. 1.025 OPS after the break. 10th in all of baseball.

I'd have no problem taking him off of the Brewers hands if he's the best we can get. He's a guy who, if he has a bad year, you're probably gettings a .260/.330/.470 line. If he has a good year, then you're getting a .290/.370/.500 line. I could live with the former (assuming we upgrade in center and Neifi is not in the lineup) and would be thrilled with the latter.

At worst he's a .050 upgrade to Burnitz in right field, at best he's a full .100.

Floyd is a great comparison. I agree about the second tier part as well.
