I'd love to have an outfield of (healthy) bonds, shef, and bradley.

And the 3 of them are mediocre players in what way?

Who was talking about mediocrity? you were talking about jerks.

Sorry, I thought the mediocrity was implied by comparing BH and Neifi.

wow, neifi's career .681 OPS makes him the toast of chicago. bobby hill's career .693 OPS gets him run out of pittsburgh. baseball's funny sometimes.

Something else to consider is attitude. While BH with the I-Cubs, I had the "pleasure" of meeting him a few times. He was an arrogant , and I was overjoyed to hear he was dealt. From what I know, Neifi has always been a very well-liked teammate.

well, if he was rude to you a couple times, he obviously had a terrible attitude.

Was that really necessary? Why the snide comment? I'm not the only one who ever had encounters with BH that said he had a bad attitude and was extremely arrogant. I have heard other fans as well as former teammates say the same thing. Since you have had no personal encounters with him, he obviously is a choir boy.

yeah, that's what i said.

Exactly.

And exactly how is Neifi being a stand-up guy going to get us wins?

So you weren't saying that a bad attitude was a negative to be considered when deciding which players you want? wow, did I misread that

You wouldn't take a guy with this in his favor on our bench?

Career .343 OBP

Who plays a position we could actually use a pinch hit specialist from? Really, who are we going to get who would do better than that as a pinch hitter? Who'd you rather have as the first bat off the bench when they need to get on base, Macias or Hill?

We just reassigned a guy who is probably even better than Hill based on these criteria: Mike Fontenot.

I don't know all the rules about roster space and free agents and the like, but has the organization explicitly chosen Macias over Fontenot?

I think the fact that Fontenot was stranded in AAA most of the year while Macias was first off the bench in a PH role should give you your answer to that.

I was reading the link provided in the first post of this thread, and lost in all the Bobby Hill talk, was the fact that the Pirates DFAd Michael Restovich too. He is lighting it up in Winter Ball this year. When he was with the Twins, I remember reading stories about how great Cuddyer, Restovich and Morneau would be some day, but it hasn't worked out, yet I wonder if Restovich might be a good reclamation project for Hendry. Guys has got a lot of skill - maybe he can put it together a new organization.

If you were paying attention to any of the other posts, you would have noticed that I implied it may have been a deciding factor in determining which mediocre players to keep. Why is everyone so argumentative for no reason? Are you related to BH?
