Maybe to Boston as part of a Manny trade?

Good read Ronnie.

Vazquez and Erstad to Boston; Ramirez to Anaheim; Boston and Anaheim send good prospects to Arizona.

Or a scenario that involves sending Vazquez and Glaus to Boston for Manny; Then Arizona sends Manny to Anaheim for pitching.

What pitching would they get? Manny + cash for Ervin Santana and Donnelly?

I bet he stays in Arizona, cause no team's gonna want to pay him as much as he gets now.

I disagree. Vazquez posted some solid numbers for a losing team. His K/Walk ratio is alomost 4/1, and his WHIP and ERA were respectable.

If he chops that HR total down he's not from being a stud again. He's worth a gamble for a team with money to spend.

Per his contract, he can request a trade and AZ must deal him before March 15 or he becomes a FA. Thus, I think AZ will be willing to eat some of his money raher than losing him for nothing.

I also don't think he's posturing at all. Go check out the article at ESPN.com to see what I mean.

I could see him going to Florida in a Lo Duca or Lowell deal. That's about as close to Puerto Rico as he's going to get, the fish need to fill Burnett's shoes, and AZ may need a 3B if Glaus is dealt (not to mention their catchers aren't the greatest).

Florida is trying to clear payroll, so unless a third team is involved, I don't see any way Vasquez ends up in Florida.

I could see Texas taking a flyer on him if they could unload something on to Arizona.

He isn't Texas stadium material (too many longballs). Put him in Detroit and he's an all-star. Not sure how much many Detroit has too spend though.

And Rick Reed said very similar things after being dealt to Minnesota. Minnesota couldn't get fair market value, called his bluff, and he stayed put, cause nobody was giving him 8M a year. Just like if Zona calls his bluff, Vazquez will stay put cause he won't be forfeiting the 5M or so a year if he hit the open market just before the season started.
