Any interest in Reggie Sanders?

Assuming we get Furcal and Pierre which seems to be what almost everyone thinks. We need a good power bat in right. I dont htink Giles wants to come to the Cubs and he is the only left handed power hitting free agent. While a left hander would be nice any kond of production works.

 

A guy who is flying under the radar is Reggie Sanders. Reggie is older but he they say he has a good work ethic and is a good guy. Last year in 295 AB's he hit .271 with a .340 OBP. He had 21 HR 54 RBI and 14 SB. Project that over a full year and he could have put up around 35-40 homers and 100 RBI. Not to mention 25-30 SB for a corner outfielder. He also plays a decent outfield and has an average arm. I think he would fit good on the Cubs and would be a more than capable 5 hitter.

 

The teams he has been on (besides the Pirates) also go to the World Series.

If we are going to go for the lower end of production, I'd rather get someone with age on their side.

Reggie is a great #6 hitter if you're rounding out your team.

He's not a centerpiece player.

I personally do not think so. High K low OBP kinda similar to Burnitz. I say heck no.

If many of the other options are no longer available, and no one wants to trade, I might look at Sanders. I would say he's number 10-15 on the possiblitly list.

He's real similar to Burnitz. ...A great #6 hitter if you're rounding out your team.

Let's hope he also has trouble catching it, thereby scaring JH off.
