if pierre can get his OBP back up around .375, i'd like to see him in chicago. contrary to the beliefs of many, i think furcal is a much better #2 hitter than a leadoff hitter.

How old is Pierre? I thought they have done many studies on "speedster single hitters" and how their production falls after a certain age.

Pierre turned 28 in August, and is a free agent after this season.

This should make him pretty cheap for the Cubs player wise...right?

Cuse, they've been speculating all morning on the Score (take with a grain of salt) that they're talking up a straight swap of Patterson for Pierre.

I'm not high on Pierre, but I would do that deal in half a second and walk away from the bargaining table laughing my head off.

I think you underestimate Patterson's future.

I'd do the deal, but I'd consider it a good deal for both sides.

Corey's defense would be a great tool for that park. Corey getting away from this idiotic regime would probably help him. But I don't see him being an all star or anything away from Chicago.

And I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.

Pierre in a contract year isn't going to post some .330 OBP. Also, how was his ratio of bunts to hits last season? I have to imagine that having the taller thicker grass on the infield at Wrigley would help increase his bunting proficiency.
