his K/BB ratio is a little troubling, as is the lack of power, but he's starting to make me believe 1/2 season in Iowa wasn't a fluke.

 

He's a SS/2nd. In the post steriod era I firmly believe those numbers are what most goood middle infielders will put up.

Yeah with my SS/2nd basemen power just seems more like icing on the cake than a prerequisite. I'd rather take his defense and OBP skills.

Any idea as to what Cedeno's Winter numbers are up to now? Seems like everytime I check this thread he goes 2-4.

I don't know how often they update those numbers, but Cedeno is at .347, .382, .400 avg/obp/slg. As someone noted yesterday on the Emergency board, there's no power there, but good avg & obp.

Watching the progress tonight - Caribes are playing Tigres, but Greenberg is not in the starting lineup. Cedeno has an RBI triple in the 1st inning.

I'd honestly take the .357 as his OBP, it's a heckuva lot better than the Neifster.

The problem is that you can't count on him hitting .300 to reach that kind of OBP. If you take his BA down to a pretty impressive rookie level of .270, then he's about Neifi's equal on offense. He'll have downstream upside if we can live with that for a year, but that means upgrading the OF performance quite a bit, which has obviously yet to be done.
