This guy must feel like dirt. He gives up a 900 foot homerun to Pujols in the NLCS and what does he do his next appearance..... gives up a walkoff homer to a guy who didn't homer the ENTIRE regular season.

I would hate to be him.... how does he get any sleep???

He should probably call Byung-Hyun Kim at this point for therapy advice.

Does this now make a Lidge a gutless, choking dog?

Jenks too.

They may be good but they can't get the big outs. Those teams should trade them for the equivalents of Roberto Novoa and minor leaguers.

They should trade them to the Cubs for the real Roberto Novoa.

Dempster and Jenks setting up Lidge... =P~

Also sign Farnsworth, and I'll take an all-choking dog bullpen please.

All-gutless choking dog bullpen, Vance. Get the terminology right.

Kyle Farnsworth is a gutless choking dog. He can only dream of as good as Brad Lidge. I'd take Brad Lidge in a heartbeat over Kyle Farnsworth because Lidge can at least close during the regular season. Farnsworth probably could if he wasn't hung over or worrying about where his next piece of tail is coming from. Until he gets his head screwed on straight he'll be a gutless choking dog.

With that said, Brad Lidge is, right now, a guy who can't be trusted to get critical postseason out. Until he proves he can do it, he can't. Chances are he'll get it done at some point however.

Farnsworth on the other hand never will unless he gets his head screwed on straight.

Farnsworth: 16 saves, 2 blown saves, 1 loss. (19 holds too, for the record)

Lidge: 42 saves, 4 blown saves, 4 losses.

Lidge is better than Farnsworth, but he's also lost more games for his team this season than Farnsworth has.

Hmm 35 times in a save situation and 2 blown, vs 42 and 4 blown...

Conclusive proof, lidge=gutless choking dog, farnsworth=clutch save king.

No, it's conclusive proof that both can close during the regular season, which is clearly the statement I was challenging.

Someday you will appreciate the glory that is absurd hyperbole.

Haha, my bad. Now that I re-read it, it's obvious you were being sarcastic.

It's cold and rainy outside, so I'm in a bad mood.

Every now and then I just love reading subjective, meaningless drivel devoid of facts or support.

Here we go again with the Farnsworth saga... Anyways, it is not a good feeling to have your closer come in and blow a save or give up the winning run. The fact that he gave up two home runs in his last two appearances is troubling and if I was an Astros fan I would be concerned. Jenks has no experience closing and I am really surprised to see him not use his curveball at all. One thing about Jenks is his fastball is thrown down the middle a lot, so I wasn't surprised to see him get hit against Vizcaino.
