my aunt uncle and cousins are Sox fans, they grew up on the southside before it got too bad. They all moved out to the 'burbs except one who works for the city and lives where all the city workers live.

They all complain about the new Sox park and miss old Comiskey, they actually go to games. My mom is just a bandwagon fan. I am having a hard time feeling happy for them but I guess I am just a bit.

My brother, the black sheep, is a Sox fan--has always been. I do not feel happy for him because he's obnoxious and I lost $20. lol

More important game my butt. I can't stand the Sox, but let's not act like third graders here: they flat out beat every team they played. Yeah, they got breaks, but plays like Juan Uribe's epitomize the way they've played.

 

90% percent of Cub fans I know/work with/teach are mature and cool about this - though heartbroken - but I don't get why some of you are so petty and indignant about this. Whatever.

I have a good friend who is a Sox fan and I am happy for her at the moment, though I expect some mild-mannered ribbing (the like of which has been engaged in all season) coming from that direction. Fortunately, I don't have to live through a lot of anti-Cubs bile to get to the 'harmless' side of the rivalry.

 

People behaving with dignity in both victory and defeat. Who knew?
