only six starts for db this week with eaton being the only guy to double up...both of his starts come in good pitcher's parks. only three of his offensive guys have six game weeks, but all three of his relievers do. no huge hitter's park advantages for his guys, but he's got a bunch of games in texas. cy elarton looks to put up his second consecutive 35+ point week.

 

nsbb gets seven starts, including two from carpenter. and since the book isn't out on cain yet, nsbb is throwing him out there in the heat of the playoff race. and of course the big decision was whether to throw bonds out there, and it looks like nsbb will at the expense of a gimpy damon or guillen. nsbb also showing some confidence in the rookie gomes, who i deeply regret trading to him at this point. no huge park factors here, but abreu and chipper get four games in CBP.

ghs was fortunate to advance to this round. and i'm willing to bet that tootie is as happy about ghs winning as i am since would have had to face a 10 start tornado from buddiga this week. eight starts for ghs, but, as usual, most of them are from below average-average pitchers. ghs gets a host of arlington park games from tejada, blalock and teix (though tejada and blalock have been nothing special of late) and some MMP/miller park games from lee and overbay.

 

only six starts for tootie, with glavine pulling double duty. he also pulls a tough draw w/ prior facing the cardinals. ramirez remains on the sidelines for tootie. andruw jones is on a tear, and four games in CBP should do nothing to slow that down. all three of his relievers have seven game weeks.

I'm actually down to six starts, as Patterson is questionable for Tuesday after losing significant weight with a bad bout of flu/sinus infection. With Bonderman out rather indefinitely with a bum wing, that puts my pitching in a rather precarious position for the playoffs. I may end up hoping that St Louis or Minny gives Reyes/Liriano a chance in the rotation down the stretch. Damon is battling injuries and Guillen's power has been sapped since he hurt his shoulder.

 

Hopefully, the presence of Bonds in the lineup will give everyone a lift!

last week i told jim tracy and jeff weaver they could go to hell. i now retract those statements.

 

what a first day for me...my two starts got me 17 1/3 ip, 14 k's, 2 runs allowed, 2 wins, 2 QS, a shutout and a CG (would have been two if not for my arch nemisis jose macias... :puker: )...now that's the kind of production i expect when i throw studs like jeff weaver and aaron harang out there... 8-[ ...and i think my bullpen this week has already outscored my pen last week.

 

if not for ibanez's crazy good night, it'd be 75-0 going into day two. but i'm far from resting easy because colon, prior and oswalt are all capable of 25 point efforts. and andruw is liable to jack out five hr's in three more games in philly. both teams have six starts left.

 

db's should have a small lead going into tomorrow's action. eaton just missed a quality start, or his lead would be bigger. tim's gotta be loving a bullpen win...

I believe it is a blown save if theoretically it's a save situation when the reliever enters the game.

you're not done. you have three starts from prior, oswalt and fatolo...they are all capable of having huge games. and my pitchers are all capable of having 'disaster' starts.

Its going to be very difficult for me to repeat last weeks performance. Even with the extra starts my pitchers were brilliant, putting up their best week (7 out of 8 starts for QS's).

 

The bright side, NSBB is going to have to go 3-0 against me for the season to make it to the finals, and we all know that can be a dificult challenge. Also his 2 victories against me we for a combined 29 points, so the matches have been close. Tim definatly has the edge, but I think I have an outside shot to pullout a major upset. I need someone to step up in the clubhouse and be the hero this week, and as we all know team chemistry is the key so and I am looking for Ryan Howard to be that guy this week. He is too young to know the magnitude of this week, so the pressure should not get to him.

i don't like using the term 'comeback' in fantasy sports...because it implies that the team 'blowing it' had some hand in choking the lead away...and that's not really the case. it's not like i could run out the clock to hold my lead.
