It's like it doesn't even matter how well Murton and/or Cedeno do when they start. If I recall correctly, the past two times they've started, each of them got on base at least twice in each game... and back to the bench they go the day after.

And Murton even hit a home run to deep center which is what Dusty said Murton needed (power).

Yeah sure, but we need a better look at Burnitz, therefore Murton must sit.

Wow, I just took a look at Corey's August numbers...

.167/.206/.267 That's an OPS of .473

Can anyone say pathetic? The fact that Corey is starting over Murton, given his recent numbers, REALLY pisses me off.

Well, considering Murton can't play CF, it's not exactly a him v. Corey comparison. Regardless, it's criminal that Murton isn't playing, and I really don't care which of the other outfielders doesn't play to get him in the lineup.

No, it really is. Hairston can play center and he's being shifted to left so Corey can play his natural position. It's very valid to compare Murton to either of the two.

Of course, Corey is a far superior defender to Hairston, which is why it's not an exact comp. Either way though, I agree with you.

It really is maddening to hear Dusty say over and over that he has to balance playing rookies with trying to win, when Murton and Cedeno are both hitting over .300 and playing better fundamental baseball than anyone on the team.

and then he almost earholes Williams when he squares around to bunt. :x

As Santo pointed out, you gotta expect that when you square around too soon.

what? you can stand there all day showing bunt. throwing high and inside when the pitcher knows you're bunting is garbage. it's harder to move away from the pitch when squared up to bunt.
