Elsehwhere around the Cubs system:

 

Cubs: The Cubs are up 4-2 at the 7th inning stretch. Nomar made a nice defensive play to help Scott Williamson out of a 2-on, 2-out jam.

 

Iowa: Iowa and New Orleans tied up at 1 in the middle of the 4th. Iowa starter Raul Valdes with 7 Ks through 4 innings. David Kelton is 2 for 2 with an RBI.

 

Peoria: Peoria down 4-0 in the 5th, but starting pitcher Jesse Estrada has only surrendered one earned run. Catcher Alan Rick has the only Peoria hit.

 

Boise: They're about to get started in Boise. Cubs first rounder Mark Pawelek will be making his Boise debut.
