This is the last game of the season for Mesa, by the way.

And perhaps for the last time ever. Those proposed changes would get rid of the league after this season if they go through.

Probable Pitchers

Iowa: RHP Jon Leicester (2-7, 5.38 ERA) @ RHP Ryan Jensen (1-10, 7.41 ERA)

West Tenn: RHP Carlos Marmol (3-4, 3.74 ERA)

Daytona: RHP Matt Weber (Peoria: 7-9, 3.91 ERA) vs. RHP Jose Garcia (4-4, 4.67 ERA)

Peoria: RHP Angel Guzman (Mesa: 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 12 IP) @ RHP Matt Garza (2-3, 4.09 ERA) - 2005 1st rounder (25th overall) from Fresno St.

Boise: LHP Darin Downs (4-4, 3.59 ERA)

Mesa: no clue, maybe RHP David Taylor (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 4 IP)

Weber makes his Daytona debut, Guzman makes his Peoria debut.

Any word if Pawelek will jump to Boise, or if he'll be done for the year?

Well, if promoted, he could get in two more starts at Boise. Not sure if it would be worth it, though.

Katrina might affect the West Tenn game: At game time, the forecast is for winds and a 30% chance of showers. They're expecting up to 5" of rain to have already fallen by game time. Here's the radar, Jackson, is getting hit hard right now:

Probable Pitchers

Weber makes his Daytona debut, Guzman makes his Peoria debut and Berg makes his Cubs and Peoria debut (he came over from the Yankees for Matt Lawton).

Berg will not pitch Tuesday. With Gallagher's promotion we are now a starter short so the game plan is as follows (as of now anyway)

Tues: Guzman 60-70 pitches

Wed: Berg 75 pitches

Thurs: Johnson (pushed back 1 day)

Fri: Estrada (ditto)

Sat: Billek (normal day)

Who follows on Tues & Wed is anyones guess at this point.

Probable Pitchers

Peoria: RHP Angel Guzman (Mesa: 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 12 IP) @ RHP Matt Garza (2-3, 4.09 ERA)

FYI, from the Chiefs website: Beloit will throw RH Matt Garza who was a 1st round draft pick this June out of Fresno State University

ETA: The Chiefs need to win at least one of the next three games vs. Beloit to have a chance at the playoffs. Kane County just needs to lose; they play South West Michigan tonight at 7pm.

I heard 60 pitches as well concerning Guzman, of course that was also when they were going to get Berg some extended work.

still 60. no one specific to follow him now.

75 for Berg on Wednesday. Bullpen may get a lot of work the next two days

Why is Berg on a strict pitch count? Wasn't he starting in the Yankees farm system?

i dont know what his situation is. He started his last 4 appearances. 58 2/3 innings on the season. My guess is they are gonna take him to instructs and want him to be able to throw there, but again that is just a guess.

Today is Ryan Harvey's 21st birthday!

Oneri Fleita is in Beloit to see Guzman pitch. I wonder if UK is there tonight?

Gallagher got the call about being promoted at about 11:30 last night; he and Mendez flew out of Milwaukee this morning.

The start of the Daytona game is rain-delayed (shocking, I know).

Is your audio coming in ok, Jon?

Peajay is trying to listen in, but he's getting a lot of loud buzzing.

The volume seems lower than usual, but I can still listen in.

The volume is actually probably a little higher than normal for me. There was a brief hickup in the connection, but it sounds normal.

Today is Ryan Harvey's 21st birthday!

Beloit isn't too far from Madison and they have a night game tomorrow. I recommend he hits up the Nitty Gritty and see where the night takes him from there. :D

A 2-out bloop single with a runner on second gives Beloit the early lead. It got by Fuld and the batter advanced to second.

And it's costly. A single to right scores another run. The batter advances to second on the throwing error by Harvey, which sailed high at home.

Let Nathan know. :D

Meh, HBP, SB, bloop & an error on Fuld = 1-0 Beloit

basehit to right, high throw home by Harvey is scored an error as runner goes to 2B

2-0 Beloit

Tom Pratt out to talk to Guzman

Scoreless through 2 in Daytona

Jose Reyes with a 2-RBI single, 4-0 WT. Now EPatt singles to re-load the bases. EPatt is 3 for 3 tonight. Ryan Theriot grounds out to end the inning. After 3, it's 4-0 WT.

Matt Craig has a solo HR and an RBI single.
