Looks like he got a cut in the knee, and there's an infection around where he got the stitches. I don't know if it's external or internal though.

Won't matter. Cardinals are seemingly impervious to injuries, while the Cubs fall to pieces the moment the first player hits the DL.

Yeah, that seems to be a major difference between the two teams. When the Cards get hurt, someone almost always steps up and performs. When the Cubs get hurt, we platoon the worst players we can find, and they all underperform.

I doubt it, but who knows? We are that shorthanded. I'd think they would play Seabol (meh) and Mabry more at 3rd and Nunez and Luna at 2nd.

I think Luna would be the guy. Nunez will continue to start at 3rd as he is now the "starter".

 

Just get healthy, and pitch Mulder at night and we should be OK.

If grudz is put on the DL i think we should give Aaron Herr a shot, he has pretty good numbers at AA might as well see what he can do now while the games arent really that important. Then get Grudz back for the playoffs.

Maybe if the kid learns to take a walk (12 walks and 105 strikeouts in 387 at-bats). His lack of discipline would cause him to be eaten alive at the Major League level, I would think.

Hasnt seemed to hurt Franceour. Now obviously he is nowhere near as good as Franceour but why not give him a shot for a week or 2 and see what he can do and see if he is a decent prospect.

I live here in Springfield and hold season tickets to the AA Cards. Trust me there is no way Aaron can make it in MLB. Most guys can hit till teams discover their weakness. It would not take long for them to discover Aaron's weakness and that is he sucks. :D

Actually he can hit, and this year he hits with power. However his lack of hustle, defense, and swinging at pitches 5 feet out of the zone will be what keeps him a career minor leaguer.

Herr looks like a poor man's Richard Lewis. 24 year old in AA with low OBP high SLG numbers, and a lot of strikeouts leading to a very high BABIP(.352). I think you'd be better off with Hart, Herr doesn't look like much of a prospect.

He was released by Atlanta in the off season and picked up by Seattle. They released him in April.
