that Williamson was rushed back to the majors well before it was determined he was ready/capable of getting major league hitters out?

Seriously, he's not ready yet, and he shouldn't be in the game in a tight situation.

did anyone not see that homer coming. It was like it was too far a walk for Dusty to make for just one out so he let him face the hitter and hoped it would work out. Then when it enevitably didn't he had that oh shucks who would have guessed this would happen look on his face.

What troubled me about yesterday was that Baker double-switched in an attempt to get the 8th inning out of Williamson after he recorded the out in the previous inning (and inserted Macias to leadoff). The club has 12 pitchers for no reason, especially with a clown who can't manage the bullpen. If the pitchers are Larry's area, as Baker so often suggests, then why not let him make the in-game switches as well ?

Neither of the three W's had been in a ballgame since the previous Monday until Williamson got into yesterday's game. Prior to Novoa's appearance this weekend, he hadn't been in a ballgame since 8/12. Being well-rested and sharp are two totally different things. Wuertz will likely be called upon for some important innings in the next couple days. It'll be interesting to see how he responds.

I didn't catch the 8th inning yesterday, as Gameday locked up in the 4th inning and I couldn't get it to reload; I couldn't get MLB audio to stay connected for more than 5 or 6 minutes at a time. Just a bad day all around, but according to the box score I read.... Macias entered the game in the 9th spot.

Well Williamson's velocity is def not back to where he was before the surgery thats for sure. His fastball has been hitting 91-92 which is def not his norm. He'll be good next year. I don't know if I can bear another Dusty season. This guy is just terrible. He ha sno clue what is going on and most of his moves are questionable these days.

Macias lead-off the next inning (top of the 8th)

Williamson is sayign that it's his sldier that's getting shelled.

His slider was what made him a good pitcher in the past- it has good velocity and a sharp bite to it. Now, apparently, it's coming in at around 82 mph without much bite.

I'm not trying to throw around more accusations against our organization, but it seems to me that the fact that a recovering pitcher doesn't yet have the one out-pitch that made him effective pre-injury should have been diagnosed and taken into consideration in, oh, maybe Iowa?!?

It smacks a bit too much of someone, like Hendry, realizing that he's starting to be on the hot seat for his offseason moves, and he was desperate to make it seem that he had a plan for the bullpen all along- and that Williamson was it.

I don't mind that they signed him and are trying to get his arm back in shape. But you don't throw him into the majors when he doesn't have his stuff yet post-injury. I mean, for God's sake, we jsut went through this BS with Borowski. SOMEBODY in our organization has a very very poor short-term memory.

He was in the minors and he was very successful.

The thing that got me was dusty wasting ohman for no reason-his only lefty( and becoming quite a solid one) when he could have just gone straight to williamson for the first two and brought in Ohman to face Helton and the guy who hit the homer-He is proving day n and day out that he is a moran.

Yeah, I'm well aware of that. He pitched all of 7 innings at Iowa. Even then, they should have notcied he didn't have a dominating slider.
