I don't think Clemens is a juicer. I just think he works his butt off and the reason he is so successful is that he has MUCHO experience with good shape.

That may be true. Unfortunately, the fact that Bonds and Palmeiro used roids to stay productive toward the end of their careers casts a bad light on anyone who stays good into their late 30s or past... and in Clemens case, he's even gotten better at 42-43, which this day in age raises some eyebrows.

Yeah, that's true too. But I don't see how anyone can say that about Clemens, and then leave Randy Johnson off the list. Both old, both still throwing smoke. But Johnson is flying under the radar when it comes to steroid talk. But neither one is a juicer in my eyes, so that doesn't matter.

I'm late to this discussion, because I've been a little busy.

While driving to work, they were discussing this on XM radio. They did mention that Selig has denied that these two players are about to be suspended. He called the rumor "preposterous."

While I guess anything is possible, I think there's just a lot of untruths flying around right now. Once Palmeiro became public and people learned his suspension had been on appeal since May, I think everyone began speculating that why couldn't there be more like that they we haven't been told about.

I also wouldn't be surprised to learn that there may have been some positive tests that were overturned on appeal. Maybe that is why there are a number of rumors of this player or that player. That last statement is highly speculative, but it would shed some light on the situation.

See, I think that the Selig talk is as much of a "rumor" as the steroid talk, until somebody can provide a context for Selig's remarks. What, specifically, was he asked? What was he responding to? Is there a link to the entire conversation, or just the snippet that we've seen already?

There's no rumor to Selig's remarks. They were reported on XM 175. That's a failry reputable source. It would be the same as hearing them on BBTN or Sportscenter.

Selig has denied that Clemens will be suspended. Are there players that may be be in the appeals process? That I believe. On the other hand, I think many people are speculating on who those players are.

Selig said on PTI a week or so ago that there is a young player in the retesting/appeal stages. The test results were supposedly iffy, so we'll see if anything comes from that.

If that is the case, I think you can safely put these Clemens rumors to rest. Selig would look like a complete fool for it to turn out to be otherwise.

Show me the link where it says that Selig mentioned Clemens. I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but let's keep things in context here. What was he asked, and what was his response? Until we know that, then the entire thing is prone to interpretation, and has no more substance than any other rumor.

Isn't it possible that Clemens only began taking roids in the last few years when it took longer for his muscles to recover (b/c of his age). Therefore, his muscles might not have begun to deteriorate yet. Just a thought.

Yeah, it's definitely possible. But until he gets suspended and they announce it, I'm not going to believe these rumors.

I thought it was pretty obvious to everyone that Clemens is a juicer. He's able to workout like a mad man at his age because they allow them to recover quicker. However, I tend to now think all of them are on them. But, I've stopped caring and will continue to stop caring until MLB actually does something about it. It's absurd and all athletes close to the game know it.

Here's what Canseco had to say in his book:

As for Clemens, the seven-time Cy Young Award winner, Canseco picks his words carefully. He says he has never seen Clemens do steroids, but he says Clemens said he took "B-12 shots," and Canseco calls that clubhouse code for steroids. According to the Daily News, Canseco writes that he thought Clemens showed classic signs of steroid use, including a sudden improvement late in his career.

My dad takes B-12 shots. My dad is definitely not on steroids.

If true, I cant imagine how devastated I would be if i was an Astros fan. Its like if suddenly Derrek Lee tested positive. If that happened than I would have absolutely no faith in ANYBODY in baseball.
