It's crap. I live in NY, have extra innings, and I get the Yankees every damn Saturday. It sucks.

And today, I would get the Mets/Cubs game anyways, but its on Fox.

How can we get MLB to dump this black out situation.

I would much prefer regular TV baseball scheduling.

I hate this black out crap.

Be thankful, despite what you might think, that you do not have to witness this team stumble and bumble to another loss. FOX, and the MLB black out rules, are only looking out for the best interests of you, the fan, and your right not to be subjected to bad baseball.

What governs the decision making as to who gets what game?

I live in State College, PA. I am 236 miles from New York City.

And yet today I get the Atlanta vs. St. Louis game.

I live 771 miles from St. Louis, and 765 miles from Atlanta.

WTF?

My educated guess would be that you don't have any "local interests" so you are given "the best game" between 2 first place teams.

Sethuel, it does work, I have used it many a time. The blackout restrictions are for the U.S. and its territories only. A foreign IP address is subject to no such restrictions.

But shouldn't you give the best "local interest" game? Granted, neither the Phillies nor the Pirates were slated for FOX, but Baltimore was and the Mets were.

Grrrr. Not that I minded missing a lousy called game in a Cub loss, but still, it's frustrating. Good thing I'm not a huge Bears fan, as I'll get nothing but Eagles and Steelers this winter.

Nice! I hadn't thought about the international IP.

I agree 100%. I have the extra innings and can see almost all Cubs games. Why can't fox just pick up the games and give us a choice of the one we see?

I am stuck with Atlanta every week.

That's correct. Someone decided that Fox should have the exculsive baseball game on Saturday, so they broadcast the game they feel will be most popular in that region. Since there aren't so many local fans in PA of the Cubs or Mets, they broadcast the "better game"- Atl and St Louis.

The whole idea that exclusives are so important is just dumb, imo. In NYC, I used to get the Giants and the Jets every Sunday. Never mind that there is a superbowl rematch on the other channel- I get infomercials instead.

Rather than watch a game that I have no interest in, I just don't watch. Just like in baseball. I have no desire to watch the Yanks play a regular season game. But someone who thinks of these policies just decided that we'll all watch a game we have no interest in, just because its the only game on. Dumb.

Folks, one way around this is the blackout workaround I have posted for mlb.tv. Anyone with mlb.tv can see any game, any time, regardless of blackout regulations.

Still haven't been able to get that workaround to work for me, not to mention that FOX isn't showing any games in the San Antonio market right now :x

The hell with the quote. Great Cubbie chopper.

I couldn't agree more. A Yankees vs. Red Sox game of the week would have been big news 25 years ago when the Saturday game of the week was the only baseball you were going to see. But in our current climate of sattelite tv, internet, etc., why forcefeed us a game we don't want?

ps. When does FOX's contract expire with MLB?
