I caught something on ESPN as I was walking out the door earlier and thought that some people may be interested. The were saying that getting back Nomar and Williamson will be like 2 trades for the Cubs and it should give us a boost. They also said that we are now looking for an OF (preferably RH) and that the 2 we were looking at were Kearns and Willy Mo from Cincy. They did say that Cincy has been a horrible team to deal with and they don't see us making a deal for either one.

Thanks, I missed that. I know that Cincy feels Willy Mo has potential but is "lazy". Just like the Pirates felt about Aram. I know the majority on this board hate Dusty, but he does do a good job with that type of player.

I really dont want Willy Mo at all....that'd be a waste of our time.

And it doesnt suprise me that Cinci thinks he might have talent - they've been trying to unload and sell him for awhile.

Wily Mo doesn't impress me very much. I don't think this organization needs another "work in progress."

Of all the possibilities out there, I'd like to see us get Huff more than anyone else.

I SERIOUSLY doubt Huff is even on Hendry radar, for a couple of reason:

1: The Thing from Fantastic Four has MORE athelehticism and defensive ability the Huff.

2: Lamar (the Devil Dogs GM) would be asking for the world. He got the Mets to bite on the Kazmir/V. Zambrano deal, and he ASKED for Carlos Zambrano for Danys Baez. So image what Lamar is asking for when your talking Aubrey Huff.

Lamar is on the same planet that Dusty Baker is. I bet he'll go for it if we trade him Dusty for Huff.

Huff can be had for a decent price.

The Score was talking about the White Sox thinking about making a run for his services. I would do anything to keep him out of that organization to get him into ours.

Yes, but a "decent price" according to Chuck Lamar is not the same as what other GM's would consider to be a "decent price".

Since I live here in Lex Cincy is my Fox Sports affiliate and I watch them all the time. Let me tell you this, Willy Mo is not the answer. He gets turned around on routine fly-balls and everyone gasp if anything is hit his way. Went to the Cubs and Reds game last week and Griffey and Dunn look at each other and laugh everytime Willy Mo makes a catch. Plus he cannot hit a Major League Curve to save his life. Kearns is a different story, since coming up from AAA he is tearing the cover off the ball and looks much slimmer and in shape. Plus it would be nice to have a hometown guy on the cubs roster.

If Wily Mo gets turned around in Cincy, I can't imagine him at Wrigley on a windy day. Personally, I think Huff would be the right fit for this team. He may be struggling this year, but he's a clear cut case for a chance of scenery. I think he would thrive in Chicago, and I hope Hendry finds a way to grab him without dropping our entire minor league system. Kearns would be alright too, but Huff is the guy I want to see.

Did I hear that he has 2 grand slams in the last 5 days?

You can't possibly be serious? Zambrano for [expletive] Baez?!
