I mean come on guys, on every post you show up with some little bashing comment toward our manager. I for one believe that the man should be given a little more respect. If you would have told me at the beggining of the year that "hey your gonna lose Prior and Wood twice this year, Nomar wont be back til August, there will be a bunch of rookies and second year guys in your pen, Borowski and Hawkins are going to bomb, Ramirez will hit .250 the first 2 months of the year, and your are going to have 2 bad losing streeks, but hey come August you are going to 3 games out of the Wild Card and right in the thick of getting into the playoffs." I would have told you that you were nuts. But Dusty and the kids have kept it together and just keep fighting their butts off. I am surrounded by Reds fans and trust me the situation could be much worse. Be happy that this man has made us contenders and no more lovable losers. He has changed the mentality for the players and the fans and no one seems to give him credit for it. Does he have his flaws...yes but at the end of the day this team is battling for him and anyone that knows coaching knows thats half the battle. I know that the bashers are going to come hot and heavy to this post but I dont care because if we make it to the playoffs you guys are gonna eat crow. I know this, Dusty Baker is the manager of the Chicago Cubs and is a proven winner, for those facts only I will support him.

Since I live here in Lex Cincy is my Fox Sports affiliate and I watch them all the time. Let me tell you this, Willy Mo is not the answer. He gets turned around on routine fly-balls and everyone gasp if anything is hit his way. Went to the Cubs and Reds game last week and Griffey and Dunn look at each other and laugh everytime Willy Mo makes a catch. Plus he cannot hit a Major League Curve to save his life. Kearns is a different story, since coming up from AAA he is tearing the cover off the ball and looks much slimmer and in shape. Plus it would be nice to have a hometown guy on the cubs roster.

Just wanted to apologize to the board 4 for starting the Hairston fiasco after the game Saturday. I am new to this board as far as posting but I have been visiting here for a while and dont want the rep as a rumor guy. I thought I heard something that obviously I was wrong on.

The good thing is we had opportunities, and should have swept both Cinci and the Cards. The bad thing is we had opportunities and should have swept both Cinci and the Cards. I went to 2 games in Cinci Tues and Thurs and had the opportunity to watch the other 2 since Cinici is in my area. In both losses we should have scored double digit runs but left too many guys on base especially bases loaded opportunity. (I guess thats Dustys fault also) And if it was not for double play Walker Fri we would have swept the Cards. Honestly after witnessing the up and down game Thurs I thought "Oh God here comes another losing streak." So at this point Im Ok with where we are but I do think this week is crucial with 2 sub-.500 teams coming to town we need to take care of business and sweep one of the series while winning the other and we will be in good shape because the Nats and Atl are going to beat up on each other this week.

I just edited the title, sorry about the heart attack but obviously some people heardd some of the same things I thought i heard and Im not crazy.

I would like to know if anyone was paying attention today after the game had just ended there was a closeup of Dusty and Hairtson talking to each other while walking of the field and it sounded like Dusty said something about going to Washington. Dont want to start anything here just want to know if anyone noticed it or heard it like I did. He could have been talking about the Wild Card also.

Im sure the Stros had as many complaints and questions at this time last year as anyone.... Heck they were 4 games under .500 going into August. I know this winning cures many things an I really believe we have another huge streak left in us.

Read this as to a reason not to give up on the Cubbies so soon and want to become sellers. We have always been sellers and I dont want to fall in that category anymore and become the lovable losers.
