Why would Hoops post something on Desipio and not post it here....lol

And the wording of the post was NOTHING like hoops. Hoops never says any deal is iminent. He always is inquisitive in telling us what he knows. As in "Is Choi for Lee on anyones radar?"

That post is crap. There's no way Boston accepts that deal.

It would have to be a 3 way deal. Like:

Cubs get: Manny, Weathers and $10-15m

Sox get: Dunn, Mercker, Hollandsworth

Reds get: Hanley Ramirez, Stoppach(sp), Hill, Mitre and Leicester

My feeble attempt at a 4-way:

Cubs get: Manny

Cubs give up: Hill, Mitre, Williams, Hollandsworth

RSox get: Soriano, Burnett, Hollandsworth

RSox give up: MRamirez, HRamirez, Lester

Florida gets: Jerome Williams, Hanley Ramirez, Jon Lester

Fla gives up: Mota, Burnett

Texas gets: Mitre, Mota, Hill,

TX gives up: Soriano

Although I haven't heard any rumors about it, it seems to me that the perfect place for Manny to end up IF (and I still think that's a big if) he gets traded is New York - Mets, not Yankees and here's why....

1. The Mets are still in the hunt for the WC

2. With the way the Yankees are playing, 2005 could be the season the Mets take over the "honors" in NY.

3. Manny could be re-united with his best bud Pedro Martinez

4. Cliff Floyd (subject of many trade rumors this season) would be a reasonable replacement in the OF for Boston

I think if the Mets really wanted to make a statement, they would find a way to make the deal for Manny.

Remains to be seen if anything happens, but it should all be interesting.

Yeah, sub out Hill or Mitre with Nolasco or Pinto makes it much easier.

Personally Id try to hang onto Jerome, and after him Hill. If that's possible then where do I sign?

I'd rather hold on to Jerome too, I just figured it'd be easier to sub out Mitre/Hill in Raw's deal.

Yeah, I thought about that....but I still think Wood will be in the rotation again this season. Until then, Wellemeyer can start.

Actually, maybe the Cubs could give up Pinto and add in Wuertz because either TX or Bos could use the relief help. Boston may be giving up too much, given that Burnett is a FA to be and Holla, well....sucks.

Wait, are you telling me you can't take things seriously if you see them on Desipio?

You mean Henry Blanco's not really hitting .583?

Matt Murton didn't post 27 times DURING today's game?

I'm shocked! Shocked!

It doesn't look like Weurtz would help anyone's bullpen right now - except for maybe the I-Cubs.

Yeah, sadly though, Boston and Texas don't have much better down there right now.

Truthfully, how many teams actually have good bullpens beyond one established stud in there?

St Louis' pen is good. The White Sox have Politte, Hermanson and Cotts are throwing well.

But for the most part, bullpens are crapshoots, and their success usually goes with the starting staff's success.

The Indians have a good bullpen. Or so I was told watching the All-Star game.

And hey, I said it was probably a joke.

Ok just read the most recent posts. Yeah it's crap. My bad.

I could have sworn he was a basketball player. Didn't he make his big comeback with the Hawks several years back?
