Go Nomar! Hopefully you get a hit and your groin doesn't fall back off.

I'm excited to be going to this game.

Lets hope that his groin doesn't "fall back off" either...(knocking on wood...then realizes Wood is on the DL AGAIN and keeps fingers crossed instead)

Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't figure out what that meant and thought that I might be falling behind in my Baseball jargon.

I suspect he probably won't be playing too much at SS with Peoria?

I personally haven't heard anything specific but I think it's safe to say that he should pitch tonight. Edited by #2242005CY

I think I read somewhere that Williamson was going to throw a side session yesterday (on monday) so they could see how he looked on consecutive days. So I don't think he'll pitch tonight.

I could be wrong, but I believe he Pitched Saturday and threw on the side Sunday, Which I think would put him in line to pitch most likely tonight.

I'm 99.9% sure that he'll be playing SS tonight.

Check out this snippet from the suntimes:

In two recent rookie-league games in Mesa, Ariz., he said he jumped over a runner while turning a double play and also stretched for a ball that had been hit over the third baseman's head. After each play, he stopped, thought about the injury and realized it wasn't hurting.

He's been playing short already in Mesa.

Thanks for the link. That's an encouraging quote isn't it. Doesn't sound he was conscious of the fact he had his groin torn from his bone :-& and it would appear that he will play SS from that info.

Not that it probably would make a difference or not, but were those games in Mesa in consecutive days? I could perhaps see him playing SS 1 night then possibly DH'ing the next night.

Ryan O'Malley is not the starting pitcher for the Diamond Jaxx tonight. His spot was skipped because of the off-day. Pinto pitches tonight on his normal four days rest. Ricky Nolasco wiill pitch on Wednesday and Carlos Marmol will pitch on Thursday. Jae-kuk Ryu will pitch against the Mudcats on Friday.

BTW, the Jaxx players will be wearing camo uniforms as we salute the Tennessee Army National Guard on Friday night. After the game, the uniform tops will be auctioned off with all the proceeds going to the families whose loved ones have been deployed.

How much do you think a Nomar autographed Diamond Jaxx camo uniform would go for?? Just curious...

I WILL be buying one of those uniforms! The gameday guy was wearing one and they look great!

So there could be some validity to Nomar with the Jaxx after all

A Nomar gamer would end up the highest selling item ever in a Jaxx auction by far. I would expect it to sell for $600-$1,000.

Tarp is on the field in Peoria and it's still raining.

Best-case scenario = 8 pm start right now.

They're playing the HR Derby on the videoboard for the fans.

Nomar is currently in the lineup batting 2nd & playing SS. No word yet on whether field conditions might result in Nomar switching to DH.

EPat 2B

Nomar SS

Harvey RF

Schmidt LF

Flowers DH

Fuld CF

Rick C

Smith 3B

Larsen 1B

Matt Weber P

ETA: The game broadcast will pick back up at 7 for a status report and maybe even a guest.

Still raining in Peoria, but there's some hope that the worst is past there now.

If they are rained out, there would be a doubleheader tomorrow kicking off at 6pm. Grant Johnson has been scheduled to pitch tomorrow's game. They are still hoping to get the game in tonight, though.

Reyes picks up an RBI infield "single" with the bases loaded thanks to a mental lapse on the part of the first basemen. 1-0 Diamond Jaxx.

Bacon with a bases-juiced triple down the right field line and it's 4-0 Diamond Jaxx!

Peoria game has been rained out.

PeoriaChiefs.com[/url]"]The Peoria Chiefs have announced Tuesday’s game against the Dayton Dragons has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up Wednesday as a part of a doubleheader starting at 6 PM. Nomar Garciaparra is expected to play in at least one of the games during the doubleheader.

Fans with tickets from Tuesday’s rainout will be able to redeem those tickets for any other 2005 regular season home game at O’Brien Field.

Game one of the doubleheader will start at 6 PM, as Matt Weber (4-8, 3.78) will start on the mound for the Chiefs. He’ll go against Dayton’s Jon George (5-5, 5.26). Jerry Blevins (2-5, 2.64) will start for the Chiefs in game two against James Morrison (0-3, 5.85) of Dayton.

The first 1,500 fans through the gates Wednesday evening will receive a collectable Albert Pujols baseball courtesy of Pepsi. Gates will open at 5 PM and both games will be seven innings.

Ugh. I guess means Nomar will definitely join another affiliate after Thursday.
